OK... I'm not out any more...lol yep, a blender....

here you go!

Using your food processor or your blender, you can turn almost any nut and some seeds into a "nut butter".

Combine, in your processor or blender, 1 c. roasted nuts or seeds and 1T. + 1 t. of vegetable oil. Process at medium to high speed, scraping down the sides as needed. Blend til smooth or leave a little "chunky".

Be sure that you store in a tightly sealed container in the refrigerator. These nut butters will go rancid if left out too long. Warm to room temperature to spread.

Makes about 1 c.

Oh, wow! Should a juicer be able to do nut butters also? Or does it have to be a special juicer? My daughter would LOVE this if I could make her favorites! :)

I have made small amounts in my coffee grinder with olive oil (organic cold pressed). Always pre-sprout nuts/seeds/grains.

Excellent, thanks Suzi!

Now, I'm assuming that I can do this with raw, sprouted nuts too?

Has anyone made nut butter? I'd be interested in any tips you could pass along.

here you go! Federal Law requires that we warn you of the following: 1. Natural methods can sometimes backfire. 2. If you are pregnant, consult your physician before using any natural remedy. 3. I have only made nut butters with raw (soaked/sprouted) nuts. I have

only used a juicer (Green Power or Champion are the only ones) not a

blender.

I don't think it would work with a blender unless very diluted.

Hi Elizabeth,

Here's a great alternative:

2 cups raw soaked nuts

1/2 cup fresh OJ, Young Coconut Water, or fresh pressed Apple Juice

Grind nuts in food processor; add liquid. Lasts a few days in the

fridge.

Love,

Elizabeth

There is one blender (Expensive) that will do it for sure - Vita Mix.... guess I'll be trying nut butter in the blender now...
