OK. I just meant, if you weren't lactating, then you wouldn't have

access to the milk, nothing deeper than that. I'm sorry to hear of your

experience with the meds. That's truly unfortunate. Other than the

milk, garlic is the only thing I've ever even heard of being used for

ears. I hope you get the answer you need, and really hope that in my

very first day here, I didn't manage to offend someone.

Garlic powder is not going to work (if any) as well as garlic oil.. or garlic cloves, crushed to get the juice.

Sorry Janine, I'm at work...

Powder is not gonna do it... take a garlic clove and cut it lengthwise - small enough to insert (like an enema)... the garlic will do best this way for the baby... be sure to coat the sliver of clove in some organic olive oil before inserting.

I thought I should clarify my situation. This area is new to me to and I do appreciate anything anyone has to say. Thank you for answering my post so quickly. Garlic is the best and that is why I don't understand why it isn't working as fast as it usually does.Once

again thanks,Janine

Welcome to the group Janine. I am a little late on this, but garlic, mullein and tea tree are all good additions to ear oil. There is a recipe for ear oil in the files. I would also look up the barley formula for babies. You can make it yourself and it should clear up any problems he is having with what you are using now. Garlic internally is a good idea too. Just as Suzi suggested, cut a garlic clove lengthwise and soak it in some organic cold pressed or stone ground olive oil for a minute or two. Then give it to Cam as a suppository.

Herbal Remedies - Ear infections in babies

Hi all, Just joined the other day thanks to Anna :). I have a problem with my baby. He has another ear infection. I have been using an ear oil and have been adding garlic powder to his afternoon meals. It just seems that the ear infection won't go away. I read in a post from the digest sent to me that one of you changed the formula that you were using. Could this be the problem with Cameron? I don't want to do anything that will harm him so if you see something in this post that might suggest that I am please tell me and suggest something I can do for him. Thanks, JanineFederal Law requires that we warn you of the following: 1. Okay next question, with him being a baby how long should I leave it

there. It's not like its one of those soft suppositories that absorb

into the skin or will it break down?

Extra virgin is the first pressing. Virgin is the second with some chemical added. Regular they add more chemical, etc.

Janine,

You want the one that is organic... or the stone ground cold pressed, some "virgin" oils are not really virgin.....

Hi Janine,

I was the one that posted about my daughter's ear infections when she was a baby and it was due to the formula ("standard" cow's milk) that she went on after being weaned. Although I didn't know about the barley formula at the time, that is definitely the one I'd use now. By the way, my daughter's ear infections did clear up just fine after switching to something more natural and healthy, and she'd doing great now. I know that you and your child will get through this fine. You've got more data at your fingertips now with this group than I had while Megan was little!!
