Guest guest
I gave my dog human glucosamine for years and it really helped her arthritis. She was also diagnosed with a grade 3 heart murmur at 13. I gave her hawthorn twice a day for the rest of her life and it really helped. When she was first diagnosed she used to cough a lot but that all stopped . I would recommend it to anyone - Alison herbal remedies Saturday, February 07, 2004 8:15 AM Herbal Remedies - Dog's infected gums One of my chihuahuas just started taking cosequin supplements. Does anyone use these for pets? Anyone use the "people version" (glucosamine) of this for their pets instead? Also, I just realized that my little 5 lb chihuahua is missing her bottom 2 teeth due to bad dental hygiene. (Bad owner, hanging head)I was told that all three of my dogs need a dental cleaning (at $300-$400 each). The dogs are 12, 13, and 14 yrs old, and I'm thinking they have made it this far and don't have many more years, so I probably won't do it for financial reasons. I regret not taking better care, but that's the reality of 6 kids & 3 dogs. I just don't want them to be in pain or develop an infection that spreads. I am thinking I would use a tooth & gum formula but I'm not sure how much to use. And I'm giggling thinking about how I'm gonna teach the little thing to swish and spit. Is there any point in beginning brushing again? How to remove the cucky build-up? Any other suggestions for mature doggie care?TIA!!!AlisonFederal Law requires that we warn you of the following: 1. Guest guest
I am on a couple of rescue dog lists and several have taken their dogs to a vet chiropractor, after all the drugs didn't work and they all have had remarkable results. Our vet is conventional, but also offers Chiropractic and Acupuncture and gave our little Missy adjustments when epilepsy was suspected. She hasn't had a "seizure" in over 2 years. I know this isn't your dog's problem Suzi, but not only did it help our Missy, the dogs mentioned above were in intense pain and at times couldn't walk. Now, they play and can walk stairs. One is 9 years old and the others around 5 and 6 years old. It may be workable along with the herbals you give her. Guest guest
I give glucosomine along with MSM, and Total nutrition, lemon egg to my 14 yr old lab.. She has arthritis bad in her back leg... Helps her for the most part.. some days are better than others... steps are her downfall but she feels she has to do them... and yes they're the "people version" Tooth and gum formula - I would just lightly brush or swab the teeth and gums and then try to rinse them.. Maybe even try some echinacea tincture (made with AVC) Lemon egg (internal) would also be good. Guest guest
I'll have to see if there are any of those special chiros around here... She does pretty good except for going down steps... and weather changes seem to antagonize more. thanks Anna. SuziDrCrandall <drcrandall wrote: Suzi, have you had your lab’s spine adjusted? I had a friend who kept taking her lab to the vet for this and that problem with the hips and I kept telling her to ask the vet to adjust it as I know this vet used the Activator. Weeellll, $2000 later, the vet FINALLY adjusted the dog and it was a miracle!!! Duh! This was a young dog so the results might not be as dramatic, but I’ll tell ya, it might help more then you think.
