Guest guest
There is a vegan midwife i know of that suggests that pregnant ladies don't need much protein. That is contrary to the evidence and opinion of good midwives. Good midwives suggest that complete protein is important and vegetarians must be extra careful to get enough protein to prevent toxemia. There aren't huge double blind studies done on this because there isn't enough economic interest. Hope this clarifies things-- protein is important for pregnant and lactating women. Healthy Traditional cultures were very aware of this and fed such women extra special nutrient rich diets.
