Guest guest
Have you tried Doc's nerve sedative formula? or better yet the female formula in the files ? Here is some info I have on hand if it is helpful. St. John's Wort - This herb has been reported to be a mild MAO inhibitor, you may have to avoid the same foods that are avoided when taking an MAO inhibitor. St. John's Wort--May enhance effects of narcotics, alcohol, and antidepressants; increase risk of sunburn; interfere with iron absorption. Evening Primrose oil--Can counteract the effects of anti-convulsant drugs. SiteBuilder - Free web site building tool. Try it!

No, I have not. There are a few things in the nerve sedative formula that I'm pretty sure that I shouldn't take while breastfeeding - the cohosh's and skullcap. Although, doctor has reassured me that the occasional cup of chamomile and skullcap tea, wouldn't do any harm. It's funny, I'm more apprehensive than she is about that kind of thing, and she's the one whose has a plethora of letters behind her name. As far as the women's formula goes. At the bottom of the formulas - Doc says " You can vary these to suit your needs. " There are only a few of the herbs that I know for sure will not decrease the milk supply. My concern is if I fiddle with the formulas too much that I may get too much of what I don't need or not enough of what I do. What I'd really like is a really GOOD herb book, that lists the make up of the herb - i.e. vitamins, minerals, amino acids, etc - Properties i.e. MAO, SSRI, anti-coagulant<sp?>, galactagogue<sp?>, I don't just want to be able to read what it's good for, I want to know how it breaks down in the body, how it's processed and absorbed, and what it does to the body.
