Diane,

You do the best you can with what you have or can afford.... Remember, anything you do to help your health is better than nothing at all.

Hope,

We are a family of 7 and sit squarely on the poverty line. My best two bits

of advice for produce are: 1. Garden!!! -- even if you only have a small

yard or have to grow in containers on an apartment balcony. You can grow

just about whatever you like and know its not been sprayed, irradiated

etc... 2. Save money by not buying processed foods. What you save can be

used to buy better produce. 3. Ooops, I know I only said two but I just

though of another - Try to find a " co-op " or start one. We can get organic

produce we can't grow for much cheaper this way. And believe me, 5 kids can

go through a **lot** of produce - they're worse than rabbits or deer!

We did raise rabbits for awhile for organic meat but the kids would get too

attached to the little critters and my hubby is too much of a city boy to

eat anything he saw alive so I gave up. Rabbits are cheap and make

*wonderful* fertilizer for your garden. They're tasty critters too.<g>

JC =c)
