Growing sprouts is a cheap way of eating healthily. I also grow my own herbs on the windowsill and last year grew miniature tomato plant which gave quite a lot of fruit

Herbal Remedies - some resources

Hello... Thanks for the responses about my son's ear infection. He is doing much better and napping now. I'm very thankful for that.I can't grow my own herbs because i live only in an apartment. So here is where i get my herbspacificbotanicals.com-- all organic, one pound minimum in oregonhealmarketplace.com -- They sell kits for female formula, nervine formula etc etc so that you don't have to buy a pound of every herb to make a quart or two of formulae. Very good place. They're in NCarolina. Very useful. And westonaprice.org has a lot of information about nutrition based on research of entire populations over the past 80 years or so. Nutrition and Physical Degeneration is a great book by Weston A priceHope these are useful to you.Also-- i know about some of the things we should do, yet we are not wealthy people. (Technically below the poverty line, but we don't think of ourselves as poor.) So, we can't afford organic meats etc. We try to eat a lot of fresh fruits and veggies, but that is even hard on a budget. Any suggestions? Can anyone relate? Or is everyone that is interested in healthy eating rich except for us? ThanksHopeFederal Law requires that we warn you of the following: 1. Natural methods can sometimes backfire. 2. If you are pregnant, consult your physician before using any natural remedy. 3. The Constitution guarantees you the right to be your own physician and toprescribe for your own health. Hope,

No by all means most of us are not wealthy... you do the best you can with what you have and can afford... that is what we all do.

I wish I could remember but somewhere in the dusty corners of my mind Weston Price sticks out with a red flag... but I can't remember why... maybe someone else knows something about them...

pacific botanicals is very good.. don't know the other... Check out www.herbalcom.com for good prices...

Suzi

PS Glad the little one is better.

Hi Hope. We are below the poverty line too. I simply do the best I can day to day just like you. Whenever I can I go with a friend out to the local farm and get produce and eggs. I try to stay away from anything processed. When I get another used freezer, I am planning on getting some meat from the local farm as well and freezing the portions myself. As for herbs, I cannot afford anything right now and live in an apartment too. A friend recently sent me some milk thistle tincture she made and I am trying to come up with some things I can barter with for other trades. When we do have a little money I get my herbs from mountainroseherbs.com which is run out of Eugene, OR, just a mile from where I live. Hope this helps a little hon.

Yes they are. We are on such a tight budget right now though and I need to get food stamps. Hopefully the gov will cough up the money they owe us soon :/
