shingles on face :(

Last Wednesday I realised that I had shingles on my face and rushed

to Dr on Thursday because I know there is danger of it hitting the

cornea. He put me in Valtrax and also some eye drops as I had

outbreak on tip of nose which indicates possible eye involvement.

Anyway, I was able to sooth the outbreak with cool herbal tea

compresses and now using St.John's Wort oil on them. Also taking

Lysine/Oliv Leaf/C/Ech and will start St.John's tincture as soon as

Valtrex is finished tomorrow. Any ideas are welcomed. I don't think

the eye was affected because altho there was some breakout under it I

didn't seem to have any in it but will call the opthomalogist office

tomorrow. If anyone has first hand experience with this please

contact me. I want to make sure I have no scarring, its on

mouth/nose/cheek/under eye (on one side of course)and now the

blisters are drying out. I had a bout with shingles about 6 y ago on

my leg and didn't take meds but instead had acupuncture/Lysine/olive

leaf extract/St.John'sWort tincture/Echinacea/C etc plus St.J oil

externally but had no breakout. This time ws afraid to take a chance

of being blinded. Thanks for any input. I am very anxious about any

possible eye damage.
