Guest guest
Dear Persian, Too often in the past, other sites () would send a person (or two) over here to HR to do some recruiting for another or their own lists. I got tired of it, and as a result, a new policy was born. If you want to research another site and pick up data there and then post that data to this list (as long as it's not copyrighted) you are welcome to do so. The only way I could stop others promoting their lists (overtly or covertly) was to publish that policy. It stands as-is. Doc PS. And "no", you don't have to go beat your head against a brick wall. ;o) Just think for a bit and I'm sure you could come with few more reasons of your own as to why this policy exists. PPS. There are quite a few "Other" list owners that are members of Herbal Remedies. I know who they are, and they are welcome here as long as they don't "recruit". One of my own private, personal goals for HR is for it to become the definitive list when it comes to Naturopathic resources. This might be a little egotistical on my part, but I'm willing to be accused of such as long as I get the product of "having the correct information available". There are too many other lists out there that are too sloppy with their data. I don't think it is an accident that we are the largest "Herbal Healing" list on . We've always prided ourselves on giving the best advice we can to those who come here seeking it. Why alloy that??? I also think that'sfair that this list is not used to recruit membership of other lists. However that wasnot my question. Yes, I see it says no other list is promoted. I am not even talkingabout promoting, I am talking about helping others with problems. I just wonder why it isso bad, and against the rules, to tell someone of a natural healing/herbal/bach flower/chiropractic/aromatherapy/ group which may help them, there are heaps of other natural therapies, plant based and other, not involving any pharmaceuticals etc at all. I only WONDER why we arenot even allowed to mention them if somone is seeking help.Yes I know, go an bang my head against a brick wall, its in the rules. I justwould like to know WHY?thanks a lotPersian
Guest guest
Oh boy, where to start........ see below.Persian <persian13 wrote: A couple of our members a while ago where asking about their pets, if I recall one was about cat ear mites and I forget the other. Anyway I am on a list which deals solely with a natural raw diet and holistic lifestyle for cats and it has over 1,000 members, so they certainly don't need any plugging or recruitment. Do you think they would like other lists trying to recruit their members? From what you say above about your private goals are you aiming to become the definitive list for herbal/holistic/naturopathic pet care as well? How long would that take? No, Doc is only dealing with herbal remedies , yes we have discussions regarding pets, when it comes up...but we are not specializing in pets, but in people. That list (referred above) specializes in pets/animals, but I would imagine they discuss human problems from time to time also. The lady running this list has been raw feeding for 30 years!! Do you think you could get that experience shortly and offer as good as her expert advice? Doc never said he could..I guess I am not even allowed to tell people here about it, only privately. But you can tell them of cures, or that there are lists dealing strictly with treating pets holisticly.. and if someone specifically asks.. then email them off list..Yes I stick to the rules to learn herbal stuff, but in that particular exampleI certainly don't agree with the rules! I have dropped several lists I was on due to the constant promoting of other lists, websites, etc... I'm there to learn "whatever the list is dedicated to..." not get "invited" to many other lists... if I want to know more I will email the person direct off list. And if I feel, due to their "problems" that they need this other list, for instance, major illnesses with say a goat, and this list hasn't solved it, I will email them off list with the info... then they may choose to do whatever... afterall, this list specializes more in people than goats... however, this list has cured some things in goats also... does this help any? Guest guest
Persian. You are pushing it! And being insulting to boot. My ego aside. Your post is soliciting for people to contact you off list so you can give them the name of another list, when no one to my knowledge asked for this data in the first place??? Perhaps you should go elsewhere, since you are so unhappy with our policies and having difficulty adhering to them. I was just pointingout to Doc's ego that there are other people around who are experts on other naturopathic stuff! If anyone would like info on the raw feeding pets list please mail me privately.regardsPersian
