Hi everyone. My name is Karen. I've been lurking for a bit and

thought it would be a good time to introduce myself.

I have had crohn's disease for over 20 years and am anemic. I don't

take drugs any more as I found the side effects too damaging compared

to the benefit. Plus, it seemed that the benefits were lessening

over time. The last time I saw my specialist over 2 years ago he

told me I'm medically untreatable because they've given me every

treatment they know of.

I control things the best I can with diet and different supplements.

I've been as well without the drugs as I have with them, which makes

me very happy, of course. Eight years ago I had surgery to remove my

colon and replace it with a pouch. This leaves me lacking everything

the colon did.

My doctor last told me that surgery is my only option now and I

refuse to do it. Going down that road leads to multiple operations,

as far as I'm concerned. I already regret having the first one. If

only I'd known about natural healing techniques then!

I've tried detoxes several times but found them to be extremely

harsh. My body is not at a point where I can tolerate them.

Do any of you know of a connection between the spleen and crohn's?

When I have had acupuncture treatments she always focused on boosting

the spleen, with remarkable effects.

K, I don't want to take up too much space. :D Ciao for now, Karen
