Guest guest
Alllllllllll kinds of reasons hon and you've hit upon some of the major ones. Americans eat way too much meat. Way too much!!!! More than twice a week is redundant unless you live in a very cold environment or it's a very cold winter where you live. People who live in very cold climates need the extra that meat gives but even then can eat toooo much. Moderation is the key here. In warmer climates, you can go weeks without eating meat and it won't hurt you. A little goes a long way. Then there's the subject of Hormones, Steroids, and Antibiotics that are in all commercial meat products. Who needs the PMS, the Prostate Problems, and teenage ADD etc. and a bitchy menopause all caused by eating commercial meat. Does Atkins tell you about the dangers of this???? Nooooooooooooo, not that I've ever read. The acid / alkaline ratio??? Even organic meat is acid ash producing. There is no meat that doesn't produce acid ash. None. Soooooooooo, you've got some over weight person who's already unhealthy, and you ask them to make their body even more "acid". Now you're asking for Osteo, Arthritis, and major "teeth" problems. Furthermore, they'll stink, as their kidneys start to fail and the body starts to use the skin as a back up elimination organ. This is a major reason why meats should be eaten in moderation, and should be 100% organic only!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Meats are the sole source of Nano Bacteria, which creates plaque in the arteries, and leads to heart disease. They can create tremendously high levels of cholestrol. Hope this helps. Hi there!I have a LOT of friends who have decided recently to get on the Atkins bandwagon. They are obviously not into herbal or natural lifestyles at the moment and, in my opinion, going the wrong direction completely!I know about some of the obvious issues - horrible mucus in the body, body acidifying, and all this entails - but are there some things I could enlighten my friends on specifically in regards to the Atkins diet that would make them think twice about it, if not jump off it altogether?Any advice would be greatly appreciated!:)Kelli
Guest guest
Doc, I know I wasn't the one who asked about this, but thanks for this explanation, anyway! My MIL tried Atkins for about 2 weeks. She was sickly the whole time, and when she got off, she gained more weight back than she lost anyway. I didn't think it could be too healthy of a diet when she explained it to me and am SO glad I never tried it! Now I've got something to give her so she can help some of her friends who are determined to lose weight through this same system. GOD BLESS YOU, DOC!
