Guest guest
Actually Angela, you will have already taken most of it out with your ACV that you tincture it with. What is left over is still very potent though and makes for a wonderful spice. Course it also makes for some exciting sneezing powder and is guaranteed to get your sinuses flowing. Use the total tonic itself when you feel sick and the dehydrated tonic mash when you want to add some zest to your salads or whatever. Usually by the time I get sick I could care less about doing anything extra and the herbs are very hard to find around here (KS). Would it lose anything in the dehydration? Guest guest
It may be the strength of the peppers in it, or of the garlic and onions. We get such a great variety of "hot-ness" in our batches. If it is too hot, try taking it in water or juice. Our 6 year old son takes his in water and chases it with juice. He is learning to like the heat, but says he can't really like it unitl he is 8. Don't know how he came up with that. JohnChinLdy wrote: Anyone have any idea what I may have done wrong with my total tonic? I followed all the ingredients correctly, but it tastes more like cayenne tincture, it is so hot!!! You would love it, John. I used habanerros, it is so much hotter than the TT Doc makes. With Doc's, I can take 2 droppersful straight, no problem and can taste all the ingredients. With mine, I can just tolerate 1/4th dropperful and the cayenne takes over. Any ideas? or anyway I can add something to calm it down a bit? Guest guest
Hi Phyllis, Your TT is just fine. This is how it is supposed to be. And what's this? Hotter than Doc's? How can this be????? Maybe Doc has smaller hands? Maybe a handful of this and 1/2 handful of that is purely relative to the person measuring. Hmmmm!!!! Well this isn't rocket science but yours is still good so don't throw it out with the wash. LOL Must be as hot as mine turned out. Can't taste anything except the fire. Well, not totally true. Hehehe Enjoy it Phyllis. You can always add more ACV and dilute it but don't dilute it too much. Guest guest
Thanks for your reply, Don. Yes, much hotter than Doc's, perhaps I had much bigger habeneros, haha. No way would I throw it away, I am adding it to a small amount of water and working my way to taking it straight. I had thought of diluting it with some ACV, just decided to leave it as is. Gee, maybe one of these days, I will be able to take it like you and John do.
