Guest guest
O.k. guys, need some help here. First of all, can anyone lead me to some good info on Essiac? Secondly, My MIL cannot take any type of peppers because of arthritis, yet is interested in the TT. Would it be a good formula for her to use even without the peppers? (She's interested in it for general wellbeing.) Well, that should keep me busy for the rest of the evening, huh? Thanks, again you guys! You're all so helpful! Guest guest
Thanks for the site, Suzi! She doesn't eat any nightshade vegetables. She decided to try this approach quite a while ago, and her pain has decreased a lot, so she doesn't want to try to go back to them. She also controlls her MS this way. Otherwise her diet is quite good, she is very good at watching what she buys, grows, and eats. Carrie Ann "No great artist ever sees things as they really are. Also, while I've got you here, her sister was taking the Omega's and started gaining A LOT of weight fast. Will the Omegas do that? I've never heard of such a thing! Guest guest
re the cayene... i don't think cayene is included in the night shade plant group. Bell peppers, tomatoes, egg plant, white potatoes and i forget what else... are and i do seem at times to have problems with them as i have RA. i don't think they are contra-indicated for osteo arthritis, only rheumaterd.. uh er... rheumatoid! and i really don't know that that is a fact. i do know that i didn't get really bad until i had been eating a LOT, and for a LONG period of time, of cabbage and other mixed vegetable soup/stew with a BUNCH of tomato sauce and bell peppers as i was trying to have a lot of vegies and loose weight..no meat was in this soup/stew, just a bit of olive oil. but never ever read or heard that cayene was bad for RA. i was working long hours so i would make about a 2 gallon stewer full of every fresh veggie i could find including bell peppers plus at least two of the big tall cans of like Hunts tomato sauce. ...ooooo that was SOOOOOOOooo good!! i would pour the stew/soup into individual freezer containers, freeze them and have them handy by just reheating. i am taking TT but i am easing gradually into the cayene as i do have problems with it burning me as well as the garlic.. i never noticed before how hot garlic is as i normally just copped up a small clove into my omlets and soups and other foods. i put a quite large one, big as the first joint of my thumb, in my onion, spinach quiche (sp) today and liked to have burned my tongue out! LOL!!! i go.. love.. granny lee - Carrie Watson ! O.k. guys, need some help here. First of all, can anyone lead me to some good info on Essiac? Guest guest
Hi Granny, Yup, them little heaters are of the Solanacea family. Potatoes, tomatoes, peppers (all of em), egg plant, deadly nightshade all belong to the same family. But cayenne is so very good for the circulatory system and is so wonderful as a counter-irritant (rubefacient) when rubbed onto sore aching muscles and joints. It helps to bring blood to the area which brings oxygen and nutrients there as well. This helps with healing and easing of pain. Guest guest
Her sister is quite overweight, anyway. I'm not sure of her diet, she lives across the country. I don't think she's taking any other medications. She just went and got the Omega oils (the 3, 6, and 9's) from WalMart out there. But, even though she got a combo of the omegas, I don't know how balanced the formula is. Is it normal to gain weight with Omegas? I just don't know, as I can't tolerate any kind of sea food. Guest guest
Granny, Thanks for the info! That does help! From what I have studied, I do believe cayenne is in the group, but I can't swear to it. The list of them seems to change from site to site and book to book....sigh...... Anyway, she has rheumatoid arthritis, and MS. Strangely enough, it has also seemed to help the MS a lot to stay away from these veggies. I don't know why. But, I'll pass on the info you gave to me, and see what she thinks, if she wants to try the cayenne or not. Thanks! Carrie Ann " No great artist ever sees things as they really are.
