Can someone explain to me (in simple terms) :)

Why Tylenol is bad for us?

I choose not to give it to my kids when they have a fever. I get questioned by family why I do this? I usually just say "they don't need it". But would like a better explanation for myself.

thanks, Leah

Federal Law requires that we warn you of the following: 1. Natural methods can sometimes backfire. 2. If you are pregnant, consult your physician before using any natural remedy. 3. The Constitution guarantees you the right to be your own physician and toprescribe for your own health. We are not medical doctors although MDs are welcome to post here as long as they behave themselves. Any opinions put forth by the list members are exactly that, and any person following the advice of anyone posting here does so at their own risk. It is up to you to educate yourself. Other than a toxic reaction with the liver, I don't really know of anything else.

Hi Leah,

For me, the main reason is that it causes liver damage. The damage builds with

time and it's

not a very pretty picture.

I have a friend that had used tylenol and prescription pain relievers with it

(as prescribed by

a Medical Deity). After about 4 years, she didn't wake up one morning. They

took her to the

E.R. where it was determined that the tylenol had almost killed her and her

liver. She was in

a coma for almost 3 months from it. As a result of this, today she has liver

damage, brain

damage, had a stroke with paralysis during the coma and has to walk with a cane

and

braces on her legs. She used to jog 2-3 miles a day and was very healthy with

the exception

of chronic back pain. As you can see, she's only a shadow of her former self.

Like I said, it's not a pretty picture.

Nothing made by "Pharmaconglomerate"! Why do you need a replacement for it? Anything made by the pharmaceutical companies that are supposed to suppress and/or alleviate pain are extremely toxic to the human body.

Pain is only an indicator that something is wrong inside. You need to figure out why you are having pain. Throwing NSAID's at pain will only kill you quicker.

Yeah, Don's right. :)

Pain or discomfort is your body's way of trying to tell you

something is wrong. Correct the problem, not squelch the pain. It's

dangerous to just deaden the pain without finding (and rectifying)

its cause. A few ppl are born without a developed nerve system, like

they can't tell something's hot or cold by touching it. They

certainly don't feel any pain, but they just might burn or freeze

their hand off!

Find out the root cause of the pain first. As you work on treatment

for that problem, you can use herbal painkillers on a temporary

basis. My favorites are white willow (for general pain), cloves

(applied topically for tooth or other mouth pain), feverfew (for

migraine pain), honey (for throat pain) and mustard or tomatoes

(applied externally for skin burns, etc). (Other herbs are good

applied topically for different purposes as well.)

Hope that helps :)

Love to all,
