Guest guest
my name is ingrid and i live in upstate new york. i really like the idea of herbs, but i don't know much about most of the individual herbs. i'm 6 months pg with our 4th. i've had all low-interventive, unmedicated births, but i've hemorrhaged each time. My hemorrhages are FAST AND FURIOUS...must act really fast to save my life! i've figured out that a 5-week formula was helpful in one case and that chlorophyll was helpful in another case, so i plan on doing both this time. Each time pit was used and one time meth was used, but i don't want that to happen this time. i'd like to have the baby at home, and may not have the medical option anyway. (which would be fine with me if i knew enough about herbs!) my question is, what is recommended to prevent/treat this? i've read that cayenne is good for stopping bleeding, but exactly HOW does it work? i need something that will cause my uterus to contract QUICKLY and doesn't let up too fast. thanx ingrid
Guest guest
Some midwives swear by Red Raspberry leaves to prevent hemorrhage. I have heard two things when it comes to this plant, so I suggest that you research it and come to your own conclusions. One, is that it can be used during pregnancy as a tonic. The other, is that it is contraindicated during pregnancy because it is a uterine stimulant. Do you have a midwife? herbal remedies , " ninimom24 " <ninimom24> wrote: > my name is ingrid and i live in upstate new york. i really like the > idea of herbs, but i don't know much about most of the individual > herbs. > > i'm 6 months pg with our 4th. i've had all low-interventive, > unmedicated births, but i've hemorrhaged each time. Guest guest
i've heard both as well, but i learned from one m/w that i spoke with that although it can cause contractions, that as long as you aren't taking too much, it's perfectly fine to take during pg. So right now, i'm drinking it as a tea, and the braxton hicks ctrx don't seem any different since i've started drinking it. i don't think it's strong enough to start preterm labor anyway. i've been seeing an ob this pg. my m/w lost her hospital priveledges, and at the beginning of the pg, i was planning on going to the hospital, so my next best choice for the hospital was an ob. But now i've been questioning my original intentions. ingrid herbal remedies , " k_huether77 " <k_huether77> wrote: > Some midwives swear by Red Raspberry leaves to prevent hemorrhage. Guest guest
Ingrid, I would listen to Doc's tape if you haven't already and give him a call. Yes, cayenne is excellent for bleeding, but as you said that uterus needs to contract after giving birth. There are herbs that can accomplish this :-) Janet - ninimom24 herbal remedies Monday, January 05, 2004 3:16 PM [herbal remedies] hi, new here with many questions my name is ingrid and i live in upstate new york. i really like the idea of herbs, but i don't know much about most of the individual herbs.i'm 6 months pg with our 4th. i've had all low-interventive, unmedicated births, but i've hemorrhaged each time.
