Guest guest
long time ago in a little country store who had things like crackers and candy and such in barrells, a father came in with his little boy who immediately went to the cracker barrell and started munching crackers. father admonished him. store owner says let him be; let him have all he wants. little boy gorged. pretty soon little boy couldn't eat any more so he quit. said they were sure tasting blah! . next time he came in he went right past the crackers. they were no longer appetizing to him. when there was something i did not want my children to eat, i would get a bunch of it and let them pig out. i mean really pig out. usually that would be the end of their desires for that item. there were a few things that were for treats. like occasional ice ceam, a special pie... a cake; but those things came far between so that when we had them, they were really a special event. they learned, not by me preaching, but by eliminating the desires for the junk food, to get juices or fruit with their extra lunch money enstead 0f soft drinks and candy. love.. granny lee - AJS herbal remedies Sunday, January 04, 2004 8:58 AM Re: [herbal remedies] Re: incontinence Not a dumb question at all. I'm kinda outnumbered six to one there - fivekids and a hubby who think sweets are a necessary part of the human diet. The kids don't shop but the hubby sure can!<g> So all I can really do isdamage control and not let the kids totally pig out on them. I'm working ongetting some substitutes worked in - stevia and honey for baked stuff. Iknow honey is still pure sugar but at least its better than the refinedwhite stuff if figure. I'm looking into other subs. too. These sugarexperts can usually taste substitutes a mile away. Again, the kids I cantell to deal with it for their own good, but I need to get hubby on the samepage to make it work - working on that too!JC = )
Guest guest
We have been getting huge bags of apples and my daughter loves them. Now she gets at least 1 a day and the boys have taken notice. Today Joey decided he wanted one too :-) I am waiting now for Ben to pipe in as well lol! I just tell Alyssa how good that apple is for her and don't press the boys at all about it. Devious aren't I?
