Guest guest
Our six year old, Travis, is becoming very health conscious (sp?). He will only drink distilled water, and would rather eat apple slices than candy. We had a run in like you mention with his older brother. The older brother still "babies" Travis, doesn't know how to relate to him as he is growing up, can only relate to him as a baby. Anyway, he (the older brother) occassionally has Travis over for a day, and insists on giving Travis candy and fast food, trying to "buy" his affection, in my opinion. Travis will tell him that he wants an apple or a banana, but Eric, the older brother, insists on McD's with a happy meal toy. I finally put my foot down, and said that if he continued, he (Eric) would not be able to have Travis visit any more. My wife got very upset at me. But Eric went right out and bought a bag of apples. He even asked me what type of bottled water was the best. Sometimes we have to put our foot down, draw the line in the sand, and say "enough". Boy, I sure do ramble, don't I?? I tell her they are learning proper eating habits...she says I am brainwashing them and it will bite me in the ass one day. She offers sweets to my 5 year old (at her home) and my 5 year old asks for an apple...se will then try to TALK my child into the sweets. Its so nice to hear someone else say WHY ....lol. tiffany Find out what made the Top Searches of 2003
