Guest guest
Earlier a question was brought up about alkaloids in one of the herbs recommended for asthma. I just wanted to add that if you take the individual consitutuents of an herb, many of them can be toxic alone in concentrated form and bring about negative results, BUT using the whole herb (meaning the all the constituents together) it performs just the opposite and you get the desired effects. Doc could explain it LOTS better than me but this is kinda the gist of it. Doc? diane in nw mt

Guest guest
Hi Tiffany, There are lots of herbs being banned over here. No I am not in Germany but the EU with its Codec Alimentarius (sp.) is running rampant throughout Europe and trying to do the same in the states. The only ones, it seems, that can have unlimited access to any of these herbs are... the pharmaceutical companies!!!! How quaint. Guess we all know who is behind this. Politicians and the like all work for the same master... the pharmaceutical companies. And controlling interest in all pharmaceuticals, crude oil, agribusiness, utilities etc is through... well I'll leave that for you to find. This way I won't get into trouble for naming names. Hehehehe I missed the note as to why you are giving or are considering giving coltsfoot to your three year old. Or did someone suggest you to use this? This must be for asthma if I recollect correctly. Much better to use Lobelia for asthma or a mixture of 3 grams each of Mullein, Sage and Plantain steeped in water for 15 minutes. Sweeten it and give a tablespoonful every hour. Course there is absolutely nothing wrong with using coltsfoot. Just use common sense and don't overdo it and there will never be a problem, ever. Same with any plants that contain PA's. Most if not all problems that have been associated with these plants come from people who overdo their use. They eat the leaves in salads, omelets and use the teas in high amounts daily. This takes many months or even years but will eventually create havoc with ones liver. You should always use them for 2 - 4 weeks and then take a break from them for 4 weeks stretch before going back to using them. Better yet is to use the herb for 6 days take one day off then go back on for 6 days and take 1 day off. Then at the end of two or four weeks take a month off and give the organs and system time to adjust and throw off the toxins and heal itself. This should be with any herb. Use it for a while and then take a break from it. Give your body time to rest. Guest guest
Yes it was my asthmatic 3 year old. And I am going go with caution on this one and leave out Coltfoot for now on her. It was suggested somewhere along the line and when I was doing mor reading, I got leary of some of the effects. I think she is going to go on a Mullein tincture and Panther Piss. I dont think I will be able to get enough tea in her to make any difference. tiffanyDon Quai <mysticalherbalist wrote: Hi Tiffany, There are lots of herbs being banned over here.
