Hi,

I just spent the night in the hospital after having a allergic reaction to ???? The only thing I did was taking Milk Thistle in a tea like usual. I have a question. Is it possible that by cleansing my liver like that I've released toxins enough to cause an allergic reaction? I had hives, swelling of the whole body, bright red patches on the skin, tightness of the throat and itching everywhere (real bad). They kept me to do test for my heart because of the thightness in the throat and gave me benadryl. Still this morning everything is still itching and some hives.

I do believe that the seeds are the most powerful part with the roots coming in second. Could be wrong though.

Hey Brigiitte,

How long have you been taking Milk Thistle? Like any herb, it is best to give it a rest periodically. You know take for four weeks and take a week or two off then back on again. Just thinking out loud here.

Hi Don,

I don't take it every day since it makes me go ;-) to often and if I have to get out of the house it is not practical. But like I was saying a few weeks ago I had a bad constipation problem for a while and I wanted to get rid of it so I took some more. I really think it is my liver that is acting up because it is painful and I was diagnosed with NASH last year. The only thing that I did different was to touch the roots. Maybe the allergy is there? We took them out of the house just to see if I would get better but no change so far. (24 hours) I took only the two Benadryl that they gave me at the hospital so far.. don't like to take pills at all. Took a long bath with some camomile in it to relieve the itching and it worked for a couple of hours, I'll do that again today probably more than once... I seem to have an endless supply of camomile..LOL

I also have something else that is different these days, I feel my legs becoming cold and numb very often and my pain level is much higher too. I do take TT but probably have to take cayenne in a bigger dose? I really don't know anymore and if I go back to see the doctor, he said that he was going to give me steroids.. sure why not!!! LOL I won't be going back..LOL
