Guest guest
Could that be simply too fast of a detox? (ie too many toxins being stirred up at once?) Or am I off base here? Thanks --Jen PS I know that when I started eating better and taking herbs, I got really sick--colds, strep, fevers, everything--like for 6 months. One time I felt so rough that I HAD to empty my tummy. But boy did I feel better afterward! And I believe that started my improvement. That's consistent with the detox phenomenon, right? > KEN ROARK <kroark@b...> wrote: > hello herbal guru's > > i have a question about total tonic. > > i just took off my first batch..........no problem drinking it, a little > warm on the throat, but fine! > > however.........within 30 minutes after drinking it, i became very sick of > my stomach! didnt throw up, but felt rough for a while! > > i have a sensitive stomach anyway, and have to take prilosec, but thought it > would help! > > any suggestions??????????????? > > thanks > > ken > >
Guest guest
One who has an active ulcer should by all means take cayenne. Cayenne has been used for a long time by herbalists to heal ulcers and works very well at doing just that. First, are you used to eating cayenne? Second, how much did you put into your batch of total tonic? Third, how much did you take, and was it on an empty stomach? Some do experience a warming, or even a "pain".....this does subside... the first time I took two large capsules of dried capsicum (made from my own habeneros)... I took them on an empty stomach... shortly thereafter I got VERY warm... started sweating.. got sick to my stomach and vomited....had diarreah... was "sick as a dog"... anyway, after about a 1/2 hour of this, it stopped and I started feeling better... man, did it purge my system... I started uping my dose of Total tonic... now I don't have a problem with cayenne.. plus I eat healthier than I did then. Start with the total tonic with some water... and maybe eat some crackers afterwards.. It may be you shocked your system.. this isn't bad. You just need to get your body used to cayenne. Guest guest
Hi I have read that fresh cayenne if cooked, heated or eaten raw will 'upset' ulcers but the dried form doesn't do this. My DH has an active ulcer but can take powdered cayenne in juice with no problem. We also add some to our toothpaste to prevent gingivitis and other gum problems.
