Guest guest Posted December 20, 2003 Report Share Posted December 20, 2003 Rik, you might also want to try adding bran to your diet. I use to have a terrible problem with IBS many, many years ago. I went on a high fiber diet with a good amount of bran. You have to gradually add bran to your diet so you tolerate it. Then as I did the high fiber diet, slowly but surely, I keep improving my diet till I have had NO IBS for yrs. now. Cutting out the sugar or drastically reducing it helps also. Coffee will make it worse too. It really becomes a change of life style. It doesn't happen overnight, but any positive move forward you make, reaps it's own rewards.
