Guest guest
I am a vegetarian, and I don't believe in killing an animal for its meat, or skin (leather), but I do use beeswax, because the bee does not have to die for us to use this product. It is leftover as a result of egg laying and honey production. Once the bee is done with the original purpose, it is done with the wax. The Farmer takes care of his beehives, and uses only a portion of the honey. The rest is left to the bees to do their own thing. There is a farm where we go for our veggeis, and spring, summer and fall, they have an "indoor" hive, behind glass, and you can see the bees at work. They can fly in and out at will, through a small opening in the back against the wall. (Bear with me, I don't describe anything even remotely technical...the set up is just neat!) This farm is like an Old MacDonald's farm, with educational programs and tours for children, a greenhouse, a farm market, a bakery, and acres of pumpkin patch and corn mazes for halloween. windflower New Photos - easier uploading and sharing
