Guest guest
Hi Blaze, I don't know how to help your grandmother, but did think about her not-eating. The best for that IMHO would be to juice fruit and vegetables, if she's okay to drink? I'm sure there are better qualified opinions following from others on the list :-) love Lisa - *~*Blaze*~* herbal remedies Saturday, December 13, 2003 6:55 PM [herbal remedies] Urgent Medical Question... Greetings all, as a newbie to the group, I have a question. I do realize that this forum is for alternative healing methods, but I don't know what methods to try as I have NO idea what the ailment is. My grandmother, is 69 years old, and has had this oddball swelling in her legs for the past year regularly, but has had it off and on for years. Now, here is the problem..the swelling is in the lower part of her legs, ankles and calves at first, and more recently it has moved up to her thighs. Now...this is where it gets tricky. She recently caught a cold, well, it might be the flu. She has been bedridden for a few weeks, she has gone to the doctor, but she has not gotten any answers, they just keep writing prescription after prescription. and the worst part is, they will write for stuff she already has and have told them she cannot take, like Lopressor, Cardizem, all sorts of BS crap. Now they keep claiming that she has no heart probelms, has been checked for CHF, and all sorts of stuff. Her pulse rate is very high, and her breathing is shallow. She is too weak to even turn over in the bed, she has to hold on to her head board. Going to the bathroom makes her so tired that she sleeps for hours after the trip. She is too weak to eat anything, she will take a few spoonsful of whatever and then she is through...and she can't eat any of the raw stuff as is because the whole chewing thing seems to frustrate her and make her even more tired. When she is laying down, that shallow breathing has a clicking sound in her chest, now I don't know if that is phlegm or something else, but it sounds like a pacemaker and she doesn't have one of those. Periodically she wakes up to cough and cough, then she is back to sleep. She is disgusted at the lack of care she is getting from her medical plan, she has been to the doctor several times, and all they do is write prescriptions and take copays. So, trying to get the upper hand, she took ALL of her meds with her to the doctor's office so they can see what she has, what she can't take so they won't prescribe it again, and one of the nurses or whatever actually stole her bottle of painkillers. We have a mold inspector coming on Monday to check the house for mold, I already KNOW she has it in her room, if herdoor is closed for a few hours, and you open it, you can smell the mildew...I believe it was from faulty work done after the Northridge quake, and there is some sort of constant leak under the house somewhere. But, when finances are tight, it takes a while to just call someone over to check it out. So, we opted for the mold inspector since it will be a thorough job and can pinpoint what type, how much is in the air, and all of that. Longwinded, I know, but please bear with me, my mom is sitting here with her Taber's Dictionary and a Merck Manual (we are both Pharmacy Technicians, and as I am NOT employed at this time, due to my disgust with the pharmaceutical industry among other things, I don't se myself in the profession any longer. I started to feel like the local dopeman, if you will or woman in my case). Anyhow, with all the symptoms that I have named above, oh, and a couple of years ago she got a BIG knock on the head by a friggin' sale sign at ALbertson's that resulted in a watery eye and dizziness for months. She won't take any supplement drinks like Ensure, but that is probably better since I believe they have milk in them, I could be wrong, but I thought it did. She literally sleeps about, what, I would say, 18-20 hours a day now. I odn't want that home health crap her plan offers (Kaiser, I could go on about them all day...I used to work there too), because they will dope her up with more meds she will react to. No nausea, I don't think I have ever seen her vomit since I have been alive and I am 29 years old. She doesn't want any tea, as she has some herbal teas here...including Flor Essence that shrunk her sister's breast tumor. I am at a loss. Is there any recipes that can be taken without food? Does anyone know what it is? My mind keeps pointing to CHF, but I am no doctor. Any info or input would be greatly appreciated...thank you for taking the time to read oll of this...Sincerely, BlazeTrue health starts with the mind and manifests in the body... Guest guest
Hi Blaze, Do give Doc a call!!! Some things you might try are an ozone machine or several placed in her room and throughout the house. Then Lobelia tinc. for her respiratory system (coughing), cayenne tinc. for her circulation, raw garlic either down or up for circulation and immune, Total Tonic for circulation and immune system, Total Nutrition for get the nutrients into her body. Sounds like she is very toxic. The ozone machine will flood the area and her body with necessary oxygen to help kill off any molds, fungi and floating anaerobic critters. Do give Doc a call though as he can give you much more info, I believe. Don Quai - *~*Blaze*~* herbal remedies Saturday, December 13, 2003 7:55 PM [herbal remedies] Urgent Medical Question... Guest guest
Not unless the garlic powder is organic ground garlic cloves.... A raw garlic clove is much more potent than garlic powder... when calling for garlic - go with fresh raw cloves... Suzi*~*Blaze*~* <obsidianblaze wrote: Oh...also..one quick addition. When we make tinctures and things of that nature, we use the "organic" quality products..so that excludes all the powdered forms? For instance, when Imake teas and such, I use Garlic also..but the bulbs that I chop up and add to the tea...that wouldn't be the same as sprinkling garlic powder in it's place would it? Just curious New Photos - easier uploading and sharing
