Guest guest
Does anyone her know of natural remedies or preventative measures for seizure activity? Here is a little history…My son three year old son had a NASTY febrile seizure at 11 months old, followed by another one, although not as bad, at 15 months. Then he had the worst of all, last February, at 2 and a half years. The first and last were so bad that they lasted 25 minutes or more and could only be stopped with massive doses of anti seizure medication. They also caused him to stop breathing and I had to do artificial respiration on him for 15 minutes or so. There was virtually no warning before any of them, except for vomiting within a minute of the third one. One minute he was fine and the next he was convulsing. Now, he has been having bizarre “episodes” since September. He is happily playing and all the sudden he will stop, walk over to me or another adult and say he is sick. His eyes get really big, his pupils dilate, he starts swallowing a lot and he gets really pale. Sometimes he throws up. It is very scary to see this happening to him. I took him to his pediatrician a couple of times and they did a lot of tests, x-rays, etc. but could find no cause. I have a referral to see a pediatric gastroenterologist on the 22nd of December (took that long to get in!!) but I really don’t believe in my gut that his symptoms have anything to do with gastro problems. But, I guess I will keep the appt just to rule them out. IMO he is having some sort of mini seizure and I hope to get an appt with his pediatric neurologist to see if this can be confirmed. But I do not want to put him on anti-seizure meds, although I do have meds to inject in an emergency (big seizure). Does anyone know of any homeopathic solutions?? Diet suggestions?? Anything??
