Hi friends,

Most of you know that my son Jamie was born with Down's Syndrome. Well, I know from Internet reports/research from USA that anti-oxidants supposedly greatly contribute to the reduction of symptoms of Down's Syndrome.

Well, I recently re-introduced 500 mg vitamin C as a daily supplement for Jamie (as well as his multi vitamin/mineral), and noticed an instant improvement!! He seemed brighter, more "there" if you know what I mean; I noticed improvement in his speech and behaviour... it was just amazing!!

Then a few days ago we were clearing away pieces of a puzzle, each piece of which consists of a letter of the alphabet - Jamie suddenly pointed to one, and said "mmmm". I looked over, and he was pointing to the letter M!!!!!!!!!!! This is a first!!! He's never yet indicated recognition of letters before!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was over the moon, as you can imagine, with tears of joy!!

I've never tried to teach him this, but since a few months we do read stories at bedtime. He also used to play games on the computer which require inserting a missing letter, and played the CD on the computer of Dr Seuss' alphabet game/story. He hasn't done any of that for about a month or so, but obviously he's picked something up and remembered it!!!

love

Lisa
