  • 5 years later...

If you have no doctor then " who " did your BP reading?...

Anyhow...there are many vitamins/herbal remedies that help reduce BP:

Garlic, Flax seed oil supplements, eliminate red meats, caffiene and alcohol, if

overweight losing just 5-10 lbs will help significantly, reduce your salt

intake, try the DASH Diet... increase aerobic exercise of some kind for 20 min.

or so four times weekly (providing there are no other health issues)....

There are a number of things to do that are beneficial...but if the reading you

mention is accurate...make sure you go to a Dr. if that doesn't change...that's

very high.  One isolated reading is never considered accurate...a few readings

at different times of the day...for a few consecutive days will give you a

better idea...

Luck to you!

yes, exercise, eating celery can help.  also, BP can vary depending on activity,

drinking coffee, etc.  So, u must check it several times during the day to get

an accurate reading.

I have a few BP cuffs that have been checked against the doctors before

she decided I wasn't spending enough and sent me the drop dead find

another doctor letter.

not much into red meats - not a drinker and minimal caffeine in tea

perhaps once a week.

I had run out of garlic but do take flax - fish oil = vit B's - little

salt but I have had a salt craving the past few weeks and had added some

to foods not normally using salt. coincides with being out of

garlic.... had not thought of that before - I thank you.

weight is a problem - I am buying a small pool to put in the greenhouse

and HOPE to get some exercise that way....

I just posted again for a similar question on my husband. his BP has

gone nuts - he can see a VA doc being a disabled vet and we have an

appointment soon. his BP scares me even more since he had a coiled

aneurysm that was done recently and will be monitored forever. high BP

is his biggest risk factor.

thanks for any help
