Hi Sylvia and welcome back ;o)

I take it the move to NM went well.

Where are you??? Around Santa Fe somewhars???

As far as the coconut oil is concerned, I've never heard any contraindications to it.

Only good things.

Love,

Doc

[herbal remedies] Doc - we have a question about Coconut Oil

First off... Hi everyone, i've been offline for a few months, getting situated in the new State and new house, etc.Now that we are basically settled in, we are trying to get down to working on us, namely diet, supplements and the like.Anyway my questions is, regarding coconut oil. I have read and heard many great things about coconut oil especially since it does not impart any flavoring to foods when cooking with it and also it does not contain any trans-fatty acids. We found a great Organic brand that is expeller pressed without bleaches or checmicals, basically pure oil.moving on...yesterday we saw the doctor about my liver values, thyroid, glycemic, etc. and most stuff was good (considering we have been bad since we've moved here) and the doctor said to steer clear of Coconut oil because it is bad for cholesterol and contains trans-fatty acids (my LDL was low and overall values a little on the high side)? We're baffled, but perhaps the new (old) doctor is not up on the latest. DOC, any insight here?
