Essiac would make the dog comfortable.. But I would suggest a call (tomorrow) or a private email to Doc right away...I'm not that familiar with renal failure for a dog.. but I will do some research for you.

Is there anyone who has knowledge or expertise about the use of natural treatments for dogs??? A friend's precious bearded collie is in renal failure due to toxicity -- Corliss is open to ANYTHING that might prolong her dog's life or at minimum make her comfortable. She is not eating AT ALL and has had nothing but IV fluids and Sub Q fluids in the past five days.I would really appreciate any advice.....meantime I am searching files and archives for "people remedies" re. renal toxicity.Jennifer

Canine Renal Failure Dr Kathy - Dr Katherine James, a US feline renal specialist and veterinary adviser to the Feline CRF Support List, also covers urology and nephrology for dogs in her website.

Columbia Animal Hospital - general information on kidney failure in dogs. Vienna Site - a site created by the owner of a dog who had CRF. Kidney disease in dogs is another site owned by another person who had a CRF dog. K9 Support List - a list for those with a dog with CRF. Kidney Disease In Dogs - another list for those dealing with canine CRF.

Hope this helps!
