Dear ?

Yes there is help on this list... First what is your diet consist of??? If soda is in it STOP. Along with that caffeine, red meats, dairy - go to a raw diet.. fruits, veggies, sprouted grains, bread if made with sprouted grain... Lots of water... next I would suggest a TOTAL BODY CLEANSE. You can check the files under Dr.Ian Shillington for all the cleanses info.. You really need to do a good total cleanse.

I would try a 3 day juice cleanse to start. (under Dr.Christopher)... I would also make some total tonic and panther piss (unde Dr.Ian Shillington). Take these daily. Total Nutrition would also be good. (in the files) And some echinacea plus also. (on this a week and off a week) If you are having stress problems, there is a nerve sedative formula in the files. Also, ask Doc for his free tape with your mailing address... It is free and lots to learn on it.Suzipeacefulglow <peacefulglow wrote:

Hi all,I don't know if anyone can comment on this or not. I may be dealing with more than one issue. My doctor, who was an osteopath and treated me with nutrients, herbs, vitamin drips after respiratory infections, etc, retired in 1999 and I've been winging it on my own since then - not being able to find a new doc. (There are three "holistic" doctors north of me (about an hours drive)who are far too expensive for me $150-$300 a visit, and their waiting list is 6 mos to a year - so...)I discovered that they publish a lot and are not always available to their patients.I haven't found a post on colonics. I started getting them, maybe once a season or longer, a few years back. I usually feel much less toxic after and just better in general. I am "regular" 2-3 times/per day. My question is, am I depleting myself of any minerals, etc

by doing this? And should I take anything restorative - herb wise - after I have this done? I am overweight 5'3" and 188 lbs and 43yo. I really put on the weight when I was preparing for osteo school. Well, that stress is past, no osteo school doors opened, and I feel that I am struggling to get back to the energy and drive I had back in the fall of 1999 after a two-week herbal tea fast and series of colonics (that is when I started school and just after my doc retired). I weighed 134 lbs. at that time. So the body and mind has gone through a lot and I'm wondering if the colonics were the wrong things now. I have one scheduled for tomorrow and I know that mentally and physically I will feel great following the treatment...but that will be my last if the physical lethargy and light depression continue and might be contributing to this state. Do you think there is any connection? Thanks for any

ideas.

Colonics only clean the colon. By the time anything makes it to your colon there is no longer much of anything worth utilizing besides maybe some water and fiber. All the minerals and vitamins were absorbed in your small intestines. You do not need to worry about depleting yourself of minerals doing colonics or even high enemas.

So, what is your diet like? Are you exercising? Have you done any cleanses lately? Sounds like you could use a good house cleaning and then, possibly, a dietary change and a lifestyle change.

Dolly,

Sorry, should have clarified better.... green tea is okay.. I would back off from the black tea (but that is me).Is this an herbal tea you're drinking? or regular black tea?.. You don't need alot of caffeine in your system. Here is an interesting link on caffeine. You decide. http://www.cspinet.org/new/caffeine.htm

More answers below.

I have a juicer. I usually have fresh juice a couple of times a week :carrots, celery, parsley, sometimes a small beet, an apple and maybe garlic. You would be wise to juice much more than that...>And some echinacea plus also. (on this a week and off a week)I read something a while back that if you have ragweed allergies, echinacea was from the same family and you should avoid this. I get all stuffy in ragweed season. So I'm thinking I should avoid

this. Just an aside, I always heard echinacea was 2 on/2 off. Is 1/1 better for people who use it? Matter of preference... I prefer 1/1 try astralagus.>If you are having stress problems, there is a nerve sedative formula in the files.I think I'm okay now...but I'll try this anyway. I know I'm burned out.>Also, ask Doc for his free tape with your mailing address... It is free and lots to learn on it.I'll do this. Thanks.

If one believes a raw diet is suited to them or if they believe it is not, either way they are right. It is all choice.

A raw diet is great, but it's not for everyone. I agree with getting rid of the red meat. Not all are suited to a raw diet. Salmon, organically raised chicken, free range I guess they are called, are ok in my book.Suit yourself, not others.S.

Here are a few reasons why a raw diet...

Such diets have been repeatedly implicated in helping people (and animals) to achieve:

rapid recovery from chronic disease rapid recovery from illness greater health and vitality greater stamina and robustness normalization of body weight (gain for those underweight, loss for those overweight)

Agreed, everything is a choice.

On the topic of a raw diet, I just wanted to mention a change that both

my husband and I experienced due to the full body cleanse we did this

past Aug. We had both been on the standard American diet and firm

believers in "must have meat" - him more so than me. He required eggs

in the morning and some major meat for both lunch and dinner. I could

get by on more salads/carbs type of thing, but he'd get dizzy and cranky

without meat.

After the body cleanse - which is all raw organic fruits and veges only! -

we both can do with only a small bit of fish at dinner (with our large

salads!) for the whole day, and that is mostly because we want it. The

whole idea of "must have meat" is completely gone.

This transformation was completely unexpected for both of us!

Anyway, not trying to influence anyone's decision on meat. Just wanted

to share my little story.

:)
