Guest guest
Baking soda is one of the best dentrifices a person can use other than an herbal preparation. Baking soda is very gentle and when used in a small amount with water or a 1.2% or less H2O2 solution does an excellent job at cleansing ones teeth. It does not scratch the enamel that I am aware of. You are more likely to scratch the enamel of your teeth by using a toothbrush that is not soft or very soft. A medium or firm bristle toothbrush can and will scratch the enamel of your teeth especially if you use a fair amount of pressure. Best is to wet your toothbrush and place baking soda directly onto the brush. This is what I use and have for years. Now using regular salt that is not dissolved into water can scratch your enamel. But not baking soda. HTH, Don Quai - sequoia/meaira herbal remedies Tuesday, October 21, 2003 10:32 PM [herbal remedies] baking soda as toothpaste? I have heard that baking soda is too abrasive to use as a toothpaste as it scratches the enamel on the teeth. Is this true or false? Thanks! Meaira ---Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
