Reminds me of what I used to keep on my bedstand that was recommended when I took a self defense course in San Francisco...a can of red spray paint to be aimed at an intruder's face. The teacher of the course said it would scare them when they saw the red and would think they were bleeding. The teacher also advised that to protect oneself legally to advise the intruder that they needed to get to a hospital as soon as possible to get treatment so as not to lose their eyesight. This would serve the double purpose of giving the law an opportunity to pick them up when they arrived at the emergency room. Thank goodness I never had to use it but often had it tucked in my car and purse for reassurance. Blessings and Light, Marilyn
Guest guest
Hi there, This is my first post since joining the group. There's a lot of great stuff going around here! So, I thought I'd try and contribute... I live in the San Jose, CA area and we frequently get ants. I keep a spray bottle of soapy water around and just squirt them to death! They die in soapy water, believe it or not! In the kitchen, I'll leave a bit of soapy water in the sink so when we stack dishes and don't have time to clean them right away, the ants won't cross the soapy water to get to them. For the animal food in the garage, I get bins that have feet on them, then put the feet of the bins in cans or on saucers with soapy water in it so the ants to cross over to the food. My daughter just LOVES taking the spray bottle and killing whatever trails she can find. When I can find the source they seem to be coming from, I'll take a whole bucket of soapy water and dump it on them. They eventually get the message and go elsewhere. I've been using this technique for years. The soap I use is Amway LOC (although I've used others successfully) and just put 3-4 pumps of it in a regular size spray bottle with water. Good luck! Guest guest
Grits! Good ole Hominy Grits. The ants eat 'em, swell up and virtually explode. The workers take it to the queen and she blows up too, wiping out the whole colony. Works great. Ok I have a slight problem, I need to find a way to get rid of ants in our circle but I cannot use insectides. So I was wondering if anyone knows any natural way to get rid of the ants.
