Guest guest
angel...i just have a word of advice for you mom's dust allergies...i have them as well and know that the bedroom is the best place to target...b/c most people's beds are dust magnets...instead of the heavy duty cleaning of the matress and replacing pillows (which seems like it can get pricey)...has your mom ever tried allergy encasings for her matress and pillows...these are tightly woven casings that the dust mites can't get through and then you just but your sheets and pillows over them--you wash your sheets and pillow cases as normal and just wash the encasings every once in a great while. i think in the past they only came in very plasticy feeling materials...but mine actually feel very similar to sheets. i noticed that this helped a great deal...also only using blankets (no comforter) that could withstand really hot water washings every other week. if you have any interest in the encasings...email me off list and i can look up where i bought them. luv laura herbal remedies , " Anjeweleyes " <anjewelhaze@k...> wrote: > Don't mention it mam....I can't believe it hasn't come up before. > I searched the archives about half way and nothing about mold in houses...and all I used was mold for the search box. > My mother is supposed to be allergic to dust mites and mold spores... > She pays a lady to come in once a month to clean her vents, ceiling fans, blinds, and she uses the carpet cleaner on my moms bed mattress with vinegar...mama also sprays down the bathroom and kitchen with vinegar and changes the ac filters about once a week and buys new pillows about once a month (sure glad she can afford that!). Her double wide is only five years old, but I bet she's got some lurking somewhere by now. She's already had to replace the floor under the kitchen sink and washer....and the ceiling in one of the bathrooms where the shower head was spraying water on it for a while and no one bothered to tell anyone that would do anything about it. And, of coarse, if you want to see my mom have a cow, light up a cigarette in her house... > You can hang meat in mama's house year round (they live in Florida)...so, I'd bet money on there being condensation...and mold...ummm, ummm, ummmm. > Just mouthing off here, I guess. And....by the way, she has more relief than before, but not all the way gone... > All incoming and outgoing scanned with NAV (and now AVG) for both our protection. > > I am grateful that yuo raised this question on this list as it seems there are many answers that I haven't found yet. > Blessings and Light,
