Guest guest
Flax seed oil is hot, hot, hot. The only reason to take it is that it contains relatively high amounts of the fatty acid called alpha-linolenic acid. This balances out the high amounts of linoleic acid normally in our diets. However, flax seed oil oxidizes very rapidly upon contact with the air. Your advisor would not take this stuff because of this problem. While it can be prevented with proper storage and handling, there is really not enough information to decide how much of this fatty acid is needed. It is claimed to lower lipids, prevent cancer, boost the immune system, etc. It does this for rats and mice but it is not clear that there are any benefits for humans. Consumption of flax seed might be better than the oil because not only do you get these fatty acids but flax seed is the richest source of lignans - one class of phytoestrogens. Again, the seeds can go rancid under long term storage. By the way, flax seed oil is also called linseed oil. That nasty smelling stuff in the paint store is the same product, just not food grade (so don't drink the varnish). e g <earthagaia wrote: "And I will never endorse it.Canada Oil or Can O la Oil is nothing but rape seed oil and I place it in the same category as Cotton Seed Oil or Linseed Oil.It is not a food. It is a lubricant or a wood or leather conditioner.Love,DocPS. You can do your own research on the net on this. There are plenty of sites out there that will give you the straight skinny on this. ;o)"Hmmmmm now I'm really confused. According to this article Linseed and Flax are one and the same. I thought you endorsed Flax Seed oil?http://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/FlaxJen__________Get advanced SPAM filtering on Webmail or POP Mail ...
