Mold? Anyone?

Dear Friends,

This is a topic quite close to my heart. I found out that I had this problem about a year ago. In fact, I have not been able to live in my house for a year now as it in infested with five of the most toxic molds. I have Fusarium in my body and have had to have toe surgery last year. This is apparently so rare that I cannot find a similar case online. My insurance company has refused to pay anything on this problem and I just do not have the energy to fight them anymore.

Here is the good news. In the last year my hair has started to grow again, my fibromyalgia and arthritis is better as are the chronic headaches and general malaise that I dealt with on a daily basis. I am so happy to hear of a way to fight this as the remediation companies want the big bucks for this problem. So far, I am still in the position of having to pay my monthly mortgage without the benefit of living in my own home. ..not good. But, for a refugee, I am doing OK I think. Dr. Shillington, please help us with ideas for dealing with this insidious problem. I am so grateful to see this topic mentioned in this group and look forward to learning more about how to handle it in a natural manner as I have developed multiple chemical sensitivities from the exposure of two years.

Blessings and Light,

Marilyn

Dear Angel,

Actually, this IS something to be concerned about, but the solution is very simple.

Household mold can be destroyed very easily with ozone = O3, and negative ions. All you need to do is purchase a Negative ION / Ozone Generator, and this will handle the problem for you. These are very healthy for you and the entire family.

I suggest you do some research on these (they usually come as one unit), and are not too expensive = a couple of hundred dollars. If your new house is very big, you may spend up to several hundred dollars for a larger unit, but it is worth it. Whenever I live in any city, I always dig mine outa mothballs. I'd never live in any city, or a wet humid climate without one.

Love,

Doc

PS. I'll see if I can find my source and post it to the list. The manufacturer who made the one I have is an old patient of mine who's addicted to Total Tonic LOL. I might be able to talk him into a special price for Herbal Remedies List members if there are enough list members interested ;o)

[herbal remedies] Mold? Anyone?

Okay...

Good morning,

I have ran across some disturbing news...

House mold is toxic.

Now, I have done a search on this and all I come up with is a bunch of sites wanting to sell me something to get rid of it or test for it, or wanting me to buy an email attachment telling me how to detect, get rid of and prevent this stuff.

Now, we have bought an old house. It has that siding stuff on it, an unfinished basement and the upstairs bathroom pipes have leaked for months (sounds like mold city to me). But, it's a done deal.

We will be in this house RIGHT before the baby is born.

Yall please tell me something. My mind just isn't working here this morning. Am I gonna have to sleep in the yard with the new baby in January?

Is this threat legitimate?

Is there anything I can use to get rid of mold that doesn't cost 100 dollars?

Can mold in a house really kill babies?

Thanks,

Angel

I used to work for a construction company that specialized in fire and water damage clean-up. I am a certified "Restorative Drying Technician". Woohoo!!! We dealt with mold daily. And we used ozone generators. They really are great!! One thing to remember about mold, though, is that often times, you may kill the mold on the surface of a wall, ceiling or floor, and it will come back very quickly. The reason is that the back of the material (drywall, sheetrock, wood, etc) is often moldy as well. And most treatments only treat the visible mold, not the hidden mold. Often times, the spaces behind the walls, etc, need to be fogged with an antimicrobial or antifungal, which can get pricey.

Just my two cents worth.
