Guest guest
Hi Betsy, Right off hand I would say absolutely no soy. You can look into the files under articles and you will find much written about soy. As for grains, well I would venture to guess that you are not sprouting your grains or at least soaking them for a minimum of 12 hours. Is this correct? All grains, nuts, seeds, legumes should be soaked for a minimum of 12 hours in order to inactivate the enzyme inhibitors. Otherwise, you will be placing these same inhibitors alive into your digestive system where they will proceed to inhibit the enzymes of your own body. These inhibitors are not necessarily specific about which enzymes they inhibit. You will also find an article that Doc wrote about this as well. Normally, acne is the bodies way of ridding itself of excess toxins, and when a child is reaching puberty and while going through their teen years they are producing lots of them. Not only through diet but through hormonal activity (very high at this stage of life). I would strongly suggest that you begin to soak all your grains, nuts, seeds and legumes before consuming. Your daughter would probably benefit from a completely raw diet as well. You have chickens you have eggs. Raw eggs are a good source of protein. Complete in itself. Sprouts are very healthy as well. Get her drinking lots of raw vegetable juices and fruit juices. You might also have her wash her face and shoulders morning and night with ACV diluted down in some water (maybe 2-4 TBS. in a cup of water). I would also suggest a complete bowel cleansing, and total body cleanse. Prior to this have her do a 3 day juice cleanse (you will find this in the files also). Anyway, here is something for you to consider. Also keep the dairy to a minimum or cut it out altogether. So sprout those grains and she will not need to go off of them. Do let me know or anyone else for that matter if you have any other questions. You can always give Doc a call as well. Iwas hoping someone would have some advice regarding my daughter's acne. She has terrible acne, not cystic, but all over her face and shoulders. She is only 11 1/2. We only eat whole foods, organic as much as possible,no sugar, only a little honey. Still, I have to think it is something inher diet that isn't agreeing with her, upsetting her hormones, or islacking something important. We have realized recently that her body doesbetter with more protein and fewer carbs (grains), but the only meat weeat is what we have raised ourselves (chicken) or gotten wild (venison),and there is a limited amount of that, nowhere near enough to have even asmall amount of meat with every meal, although we could probably manage 4oz of some kind of animal protein a day. I also have a moral problem witheating that much meat in a world where so many don't have enough foodperiod, so I feel it is necessary to come up with some other source ofprotein. She doesn't like eggs very much although she will eat themsometimes. She is lactose intolerant, and milk probably wouldn't be thebest protein source anyway even though ours is raw goat milk. Oh, and shealso has fairly bad seasonal allergies. My thought was to try an elimination diet. I think she needs to go offgrains and see what happens. I could use some suggestions for proteinsources. Are beans alone without a grain to complete them okay if shegets some form of complete protein once a day? I am reluctant to allowtoo much soy. I have had a problem with it myself and would not becomfortable giving her more than 2-3 servings a week. I would be grateful for any ideas anyone has, especially regardingpossible dietary modifications, palliative treatments for the acne in themeantime, and any herbs she might take. Is she too young to do a cleanseof some sort? Thanks!Betsy ---Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Guest guest
Hi Betsy, The first thing I would probably do is to follow a cleaning fast for a 1 to 3 days, followed the day after by a monodiet of mung beans W/ some veggies cooked in. Mung beens are easy to digest and a good source of protien. While on the fast have her drink plenty of water and veggie juices, she can make a quick drink of 2 cups of assorted veggies (nothing that gas producing) put in a blender, add 2 cups of water, blend thourghly and cook for about 5 min. This is easy to digest but really helps the hungerpains for people not used to fasting. This will help her body to release the toxins in a hurry. I would then go to a raw foods diet as suggested in the other post. A really good tea can be given to help balance clear the system and thus acne. Make a decoction of yellow dock, dandilion, and burdock root and boil for about 20 min. A little mint can be added for flavor. This will usually clear things up in a hurry. Good luck.
