Guest guest
Hello! I don't think I've yet introduced myself, even though I have been posting. My name is Kerri, I'm 24, and just starting to be serious about alternative methods to achieving health. I believe that there are healthy, natural ways to approach life, and that's why I'm here! I have a few questions already! 1. Does anyone have a natural recipe for getting the itch out of bug bites? I am currently using some burts bees outdoor bug bite relief, but with the amount of bites Ive been getting (b/c I am not thinking before I go outside......) I'm going through it pretty quickly, and it's 5 dollars a pop! I'd love to be able to make something at home! 2. My husband has some strange nerve pains that send shooting pains down his legs/ groin area/lower abdomen. We believe it is caused by a pinched nerve in his tailbone area (from an incorrectly healed fracture, perhaps). The doctors do not want to give him pain medication (b/c they can't SEE what's causing it....) but they do have him on cymbalta, which has helped. He does see a chiropractor, but not frequently as our money is a little tight right now. Any ideas? 3. I am trying to lose some weight, and getting very discouraged. I gained weight b/c of medication for an anxiety disorder. So my questions are: any natural remedies for anxiety? and any thing other than diet and exercise that has helped with losing excess weight? Alright- looking forward to the replies, and of course, NICE TO MEET YOU!!! peace, Kerri
Guest guest
Hey,hey twinkles, Great name. Welcome. 1)Bug bites: You did not say what kind of bugs!!!Use Km, Sweedish bitters,H12, Make sure stinger is out from bees, rub onion on it, Miracle II neutralizer, Rub around area lightly to lymphasize and lymph will take away the toxins. Best to avoid bugs with natural products on self and yard. See info for mosquitos in past few days. Wear high frequency device, size of a lighter, Big Lots used to have them, or something with citron on it or lemon dish soap on a patch. 2)Try Ca. to calm the nerves or Ca/Mg. Or try salt and soda baths. Or bath with Miracle II soap or neutralizer. 3)Try EFT: see emofree.com for anxiety or CD from drbate.com . There are many good methods of wt. loss. See books by Dr. Dean Ornish and possibly by Kevin Trudeau. Or try some vegetable juicing. If you do not have a juicer, get one at Goodwill for $7. to 12. Guest guest
Dear Kerri.....Homeopathically speaking, itching, burning, stinging, swelling, redness due to bug bites: Apis 6c and/or Histaminum 6c. There are also a few possibilities for shooting nerve pain for your husband (other than chiropractic or acupuncture). Again, with homeopathy, you can use both Hypericum 30c for the nerve pain and Silicea 30c for the tailbone injury. Gnaphalium 30c is also quite effective for intense pain along the sciatic nerve when numbness alternates with pain. An anxiety disorder is viewed as a constitutional concern, so a complete homeopathic intake would serve you best in this regard. In the short run, Amazon Herb Co. has an herbal product, Kavazon, which is really terrific for anxious states; their Calmazon is great for bedtime calming. In homeopathy there's also Ignatia amara 30c which can help with a sense of hysteria. I'm certain that you will receive many other ideas from this wonderful community. I hope some of the above has helped you. I have started having pain in that area for the last 4 months.. seems if I sit too long it bothers me more..so I've tried to be moving around more.. and changing postions when I do have to sit.. I didn't know others were having this..and if so.. do you know what causes it? and how to get rid of it? thanks in advance for any help. Peggy Fussy? Opinionated? Impossible to please? Perfect. Guest guest
I know what causes it.. I had turned funny once and slipped a couple discs in my back. But My tailbone started hurting after I fell from the discs. I had an MRI and it showed that I tore the ligament in my sacroiliac joint. it was a tendon that attached my tail bone to my hip. dunno what to tell you homeopathically, I had 6 months of physical therapy and two injections of steroids directly into the joint to no avail. Finally I had a blessing at church and lo and behold a lil faith in the big guy and I can sit and stand and do dishes again.. Hope it helps Jess - Peggy Monday, July 23, 2007 11:36 Re: Re: A couple of questions..... the mention of the tail bone pain caught my eye..
