Guest guest
Dear Joelle, I would suggest that you visit/join the hyporthyroid group, and see if any of your symptoms resonate with the stories from the other women. There are as many ways to approach these issues as there are women who've been on the pill! I think the hyporthyroid group will give you a lot of options and a story or two which are just too spookily similar to ignore. Guest guest
I am no expert here.. But, when I went through this, (I have wicked bad monthly cycles) I found that black kohash works miracles for my cramps and moodiness. I have no idea how or why.. My OB/Gyn suggested it as a natural alternative and I've been very happy with the results! IMHO! It is available from a variety of sources, including health food stores. It functions mostly as a relaxant, which helps the body roll with whatever pain it is having. It also helps with calming you down, and letting your mind relax. Hope this helps. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to recommend brand names, as I am fairly new to the group, but I recommend Alvita. Other brands seem to be diluted with other plants, and do not have quite the same strength. -Kristen , " Joelle Garnick " <yogajo37 wrote: > > So, I stopped taking the pill about 6 weeks ago after being on it for 22 > years!!! Guest guest
Hi Jo, First, congratulations on eliminating this synthetic, risk laden drug from your life! I am curious about your age? Unfortunately, the pill, while creating a " perfect " monthly cycle, also throws your natural hormones totally outta whack and impacts the entire endocrine system. After 22 years, it's pretty safe to conclude that your body will need to undergo a real adjustment phase and it will likely take some time. What you're experiencing now is an excess of estrogen, which (among other things) causes cysts and fibroids to proliferate. This is common for women in perimenopause (typically from 35-50) but in your case, it the result of synthetic estrogens. A cleanse is a great, even necessary idea. The best way I've found to address those cysts, to detox and to nurture the endocrine system is with Castor Oil Packs. This link will take you to everything you need to know about how to use them. http://tinyurl.com/27zsf4 Take good care, Michelle http://www.HolisticPerimenopause.com So, I stopped taking the pill about 6 weeks ago after being on it for 22 years!!! Guest guest
Hey, Joelle! Oh gosh -- I'm sorry you're having these kinds of problems ... it's been awhile for me, but my perimenopause was ghastly. Which leads me to ask you, and I don't mean to be too forward, but how old are you? Are you in perimenopause (typically hits somewhere around 35-40). Sometimes bad cramps happen (I called them " wall huggers " ). There are herbs you can try -- you might want to head down to your local health food store and see what they have. Black Cohosh is good, and there's also some package-types as well. A heating pad might help, too! (and maybe a dash of spirits!!) Guest guest
I know that vitex is good to help get your hormones back to normal after being on the pill. I also know that evening primrose is good for reducing cramps. AS for the other, I just don't know anything about interstycial cystitis. ~tam~
Guest guest
yes.................this can be a difficulty................years ago i did some landscape work for a lady who had a beautiful garden...........she was also going through something very similiar to what you are describing......her husband was very concerned. When i said i knew of something that would help..his response was 'Do not touch my wife' i was already up to my armpitts in marrigolds and delpheniums so i asked her to give me one of her shoes.........i looked at the way it was shaped and wearing.and then asked for the other............they complemented the way her walking and movements were..........but it mostly gave me a chance to alliviate some of the painfull tensions developing at the time keeping it simple..............i showed both of them that if the uppur spine and lower spine were not in harmony..the hips would have difficulty in distributions to the feet...and the feet take and give a variey of nourishment and sustenence for the wholeness of body Without hesitating...i crouched down and put her shoes back on..slowly checking the ankles............and holding them.they are often tender....and well known to reflexologists i am relating too much here.but if you can sit andlift up a leg and cross your arms so your left hand centers under the outer right ankle bone and the right hand goes to the inner area below the inside right ankle............you can just hold these areas and free-up the blocked flows that have brought discomfort THIS is a harnonizer anyway i said it would be good if she walked barefoot in the garden and grass.occasionally...........for five/minutes in the evening.rain or shine Knowing that she would wash and towel her feet later [EXCELLENT for circulation] and a new pair of shoes would be great i hope you can effectivly find the enjoyment here many of us try so hard at doing daily living that we forget about the wondeful feet we were given....................if you have sore toes.....just hold them......this is not harmful....because you are not kicking something...dropping something on them or stepping on someone {YOU}.....................if you want....by trying and applying these simplicities..............i would be happy to relate places where you can learn more about helping yourself and thus others. rod@happy fingers and toes rod helfenstein; crescentwrench2003 All new Mail Get news delivered.
