Guest guest
Hi, Check with your doctor if it's an ulcer. Could be " food stagnation " . Try chewing your food until it's liquid, every meal for a few days. Try some Chinese herbs to help remove the stagnation http://www.holisticchineseherbs.com/Heartburn.html You can also try acupuncture. Acupuncture can help digestive problems. Thanks, Elie Acupuncture & Directory http://www.tcmdirectory.com , " ben " <caddieguy2 wrote: > > Hi > every thing i eat gives me heart burn or gas loose bowels i take > zantac but I still get indigestion and gas no matter what i eat or drink. Guest guest
Ben: Have you ever tried BioK? It is a great probiotic formula available at health food stores. It is expensive but works wonders for me. Guest guest
Organic Apple Cider Vinager works wonders for heart burn and gas. 1 tbs in water 1 -2 times per day, usually in the morning on rising and before bed. Gas and heart burn are known to be caused by lack of acid...not the overabundance. When you balance the acid in the stomache you get rid of gas and heart burn. After 22 years of taking prescription meds for such symptoms, I started taking the Apple Cider Vinager and no longer need the meds. Guest guest
<<<Hi every thing i eat gives me heart burn or gas loose bowels i take zantac but I still get indigestion and gas no matter what i eat or drink. Any clues? >> Processed food causes heart burn like crazy, as do fatty foods. Aside from pro-biotics, which are wonderful, you need to be taking digestive enzymes with each meal to allow your body to digest the food like its suppose to. You will be AMAZED at how great they work. Zantac ( as well as Prilosec, ete etc ) will only exacerbate digestive problems by shutting down the proton pumps that allow the release of digestive enzymes. No WONDER you have indigestion. Yet another scam by big pharma to keep us all taking unnecessary medicines! Good luck and good digestion, Donna M
Guest guest
Hello...I was just wondering what kinds of foods and liquids you are consuming? What time frame do you allow between each cycle of digestion? What is the average portion size of every meal that you consume? I have asked a naturopathic practitioner friend for advise, and she asked me to respond to you with these questions. Any responses you should send I will refer to her immediately and from there she will determine what advise would be most beneficial to your circumstances. And she asked me to remind you that hers is only a concerned opinion...Be well nasalb0ne <donmoody wrote: , " TCMdirectory.com " <elieg1969 wrote: > > Hi, > Check with your doctor if it's an ulcer. > Could be " food stagnation " . > Try chewing your food until it's liquid, every meal for a few days. > Try some Chinese herbs to help remove the stagnation > http://www.holisticchineseherbs.com/Heartburn.html > > You can also try acupuncture. Regards, Don moody. nasalb0ne. > Hi Ben, I am currently in school for massage therapy and have taken not only western medicine techniques but also holistic and oriental techniques regarding massage and healing. I have had the same problem. In regards to the heartburn. Usually we try to " get rid of " the acid to calm the burn, when in reality it means we don't have enough in our digestive system. Try a tsp of Apple Cider Vinegar in 8 oz of water to relieve the burn. This will add the needed acidity to your stomach. (use more if needed) With the gas/loose stools. There can be many factors, the one that I was diagnosed with was a term used by my Oriental Medicine doctor which was Damp/Heat. Meaning that I had too much heat in my system and that the food I was eating was not being broken down and absorbed the way it should be. Things that can cause heat in a person is blocked emotions and deficient liver Qi (meaning the liver isn't working up to par). Some things that cause dampness in a person is nutrients not being absorbed into the system so the body needs to get rid of it, drinking too cold liquids, and Spleen Deficiency. The Spleen helps to transport and trasform the food we eat. When its not working up to par we get digestive problems. The excessive cold liquid causes the stomach to stop digesting the foods and work to bring the temp back up to the temp needed to digest the food. It can't digest and heat up at the same time. An excess amount of liquid in the stomach also dilutes the digestive enzymes needed to break down foods. Try to drink room temp liquids and only about 6oz at mealtime. To help with the emotions and spleen..I recommend an acupuncturist.. in one session they can adress both things. With repeated sessions you will see a marked difference in your health. There are certain foods to stay away from too until your system has reached a balance. There are books in Oriental Nutrition that will list what foods cause heat and dampness in the system..and what foods may help to rid the body of heat and dampness. I hope this has helped ... let me know if it does.. Peace, Peggy
Guest guest
I can believe that processed food can cause problems. The food Americans eat has everything refined out of it. If memory serves people in third world countries get more fiber then we do. The best solution for IBS and diverticulitis is to eat more fiber. Do you have heartburn or GERD? Where is the pain? If it travels from the stomach straight up through the chest then it is GERD. In which case cutting back on tomatoes, mints, onions, etc. can help. I have been on a number of antacids, and am currently on Nexium. When I was diagnosed with IBS by my gastroenterologist there was a blood test that could be indicative with cancer of the duodenum that was much to high. The Dr. said that the Nexium can elevate that. So I had to go a week without my Nexium, and it was hell. Fortunately the retest was normal. Is the indigestion bad in the morning? If so elevating the head of your bed by 6 to 12 inches can help that. As far as the lose bowels increasing your fiber intake might help. Like he said, if you are missing enzymes you need to take those. Have you been tested for lactose intolerance? You need more acid to digest the food, not less. Your food is not digesting and that is what is causing this problem. Eat fresh apples, organic if possible and brown cow yogurt from your health food store. Peace, Thyme
