Guest guest
I'm looking for a natural mosquito repellant that would be safe for a 5 month old baby (and adults of course) to use? The mosquitos in my backyard are horrible and every time my dog goes out potty, he brings in at least 10 with him. I have at least 7 bites on me. Luckily my baby doesn't have any, but it's a matter of time. We can't even go for walks as they have been so bad lately. So if there's anything you can suggest, I would appreciate it. I prefer something I could purchase online from a company versus trying to mix my own ingredients. Thanks! Paula
Guest guest
Skin so soft from Avon is what I use or Avon's Bug Guard for children. It is DEET-free (so it's not toxic) unlike the other bug repellants you buy at the store. The bug guard also has sunscreen which is safe for children. The SSS you can spray on your window screens and use in both bath water or spray lightly on the skin to repel. The Bug Guard is a lotion or spray. Both are excellent and I have used them for many years on both babies and pets. Guest guest
I have heard Lavendar oil is good for adults but don't put it on bub-it is reported to increase female hormones and youngsters have developed early breasts-so be carefull with teenager boys as well-----use it only as a stand by -might be ok to rub a little diluted on dogs fur or colar-will make her smell nice anyway-worth a try-----------------a recent listing on essential oils may give you a better idea-------------citronella -burning it is a natural repellant but not sure about on the skin but perhaps a little on a towel near child may help -be aware essential oils are very strong and may burn skin and eyes esp on bub-you can buy mosi repellant that you burn for a few hours-we live in the bus in australia and they do help but don't irradicate the problem-if you check out the net you may get a recipie to make your own but they are only a couple of dollars for a box of about 10 or more and one or two will do a night---- they are available at supermarkets and disposal stores. Guest guest
I don't know if this will be helpful in anyway or anyone can add any suggestions to this, but I have acne and apply either tea tree oil or vetivert essential oils to the acne. I have noticed when I have done this and mosquitoes were out, I got bit less. Not sure if there is a connection. I have heard tea tree being used to reduce - eliminate- prevent lice also.
