Save The East Coast!

Get congress to support the National Interest Electric Transmission

Corridor Clarification Act (H.R. 829) RIGHT NOW!

Why:

We need to help the government pass H.R.829. Otherwise, the Federal Power

Act will take away our ability to control our own land!

Here's what the DOE is planning for the East Coast:

http://stopnyri.com/pdfs/draft_midatlantic_corridor.pdf

And they have similar plans for the rest of the country:

http://nietc.anl.gov/nationalcorridor/index.cfm

H.R. 829 (sponsored by Frank Wolf, co-sponsored by NY reps Arcuri, Hall

and Hinchey) would amend the Federal Power Act, revising the factors the

Secretary of Energy may consider in determining whether to designate a

National Interest Electric Transmission Corridor (NIETC).

H.R. 829 is an amendment to the Energy and Water Development

Appropriations Bill, which will be voted on by the House of Representatives

on Wednesday June 13. If the bill passes, it will stop the process of the

designation of these corridors.

How

Contact your representatives in Congress at their Washington, DC, offices,

and urge them to support this amendment.

And please pass this on to everyone you know, in every state, and ask them

to do the same.

Congressional reps can be found here.

Fight the power,

StopNYRI.com: What you can do today.

P.S. The most important thing you can do in this fight is contribute to

the CARI legal fund.
