Guest guest
Hi, Sharon! That's very interesting that the blood transfusion changed your grandmother's personality. Not that I'm skeptical, but one would have to consider the effect of the whole incident on her. I'm thinking to be seriously ill enough to warrant a transfusion in and of itself may have been a life-altering experience. I had knee surgery in January -- it was only for cartilage (not replacement), but my life is not the same -- I also have lupus and I'm not so young any more (58). I'm still going through changes -- it's a process of accepting (but not totally) that I don't bounce back and that I'm mortal ... I'm still going through " something " . So it could the the whole of the experience. Now days if people are going to have an elective surgery (like a hip replacement, etc.) - something that's scheduled (not an emergency), they " give " their own blood some six weeks prior to surgery as back- up. The nurses almost called security .I am a kind and peaceful person. I just wonder if the blood was from some aggresive person that caused this temporary trait. I only lasted 36 hours..
