Guest guest
hi, i am generally a healthy person and stay away from antibiotics and meds. However, i am on an oral contraceptive and i have noticed recently an increase in my anxiety - along with all symptoms of anxiety / panic attacks which is also causing a major lack of sleep. I am also finding that i will just start crying for no apparent reason. its just an all over icky feeling :) (its hard to explain mental healh issues :) I have been reading online that there is a possible link between the Pill and the production of serotonin - which can cause all of this anxiety... I plan to visit my naturalist doctor about this but in the meantime i am wondering if anyone has had similar issues, or knows of a definite link between taking the pill and a physiological chemical imbalance. (it might help me sleep tonight!) any any any info would be greatly appreciated! Thank you - Deborah
Guest guest
Being prescribed the wrong kind of birth control pill can cause problems and reactions like this...similar to pregnancy when women get hormonal. rather than risking an unplanned pregnancy talk to you dr. about changing. You also need to research what OTC items will reduce the efficacy of birth control. medusa - " Deborah " <gubertush Thursday, June 07, 2007 3:19 PM Birth Control Pill causing health issues? > I plan to visit my naturalist doctor about this but in the meantime i > am wondering if anyone has had similar issues, or knows of a definite > link between taking the pill and a physiological chemical imbalance. > (it might help me sleep tonight!) > > any any any info would be greatly appreciated! > > Thank you - > Deborah
Guest guest
Hi Deborah, Big topic with lots of documented evidence to answer your question with a big YES. It's important to remember that the birth control pill is a synthetic combination of hormones that works in a very unnatural way. It effects every aspect of your being - mentally, emotionally, physically and even spiritually. No wonder you have that " all over icky feeling " ! You're experiencing common side effects of the pill - an excess of estrogen and synthetic estrogen to boot! What's really scary are the side effects that you might not even be aware of. So many doctors recommend the pill for women to regulate their periods and to address heavy bleeding (caused by estrogen dominance) But, the synthetic estrogen in the pill really just makes matters worst. And, once you go off of them, your hormones are left totally outta whack. I hope you'll consider an alternative. Guest guest
You are so welcome. Glad to be of help. However, as with any med, it's best to wean off rather than just stopping abruptly. You are now at risk for pregnancy, so you'll want to address that pronto. What you choose is a personal decision between you and your partner. The cervical cap was always my fave. Whatever you choose, I would highly recommend avoiding synthetic estrogens and progestins. It will take awhile for things to balance out and you just might not regain the same balance you once had. But, that just happens as we age anyway... Everyone is different and I don't know your age, how long you used the pill, etc. I might suggest a liver cleanse. Visit Andrew's site for lots of good detox info and products. Michelle Thanks so much for taking the time to reply to my question about Birth control - my kneisiologist tested me wiht my pill and she said its definitely the cause of my latest issues i officially went off of it - any idea how long it will take until i " normal " out ?
