This book has most of the answers to your question:

Seven Weeks to Sobriety: The Proven Program to Fight Alcoholism

through Nutrition by Joan Mathews Larsen, Phd

 

This doctor runs an inpatient/outpatient clinic in Minneapolis, and

she has had the greatest success helping people over come addictions

to alcohol and drugs thru the use of amino acids and mega doses of B,

C, Magnesium, etc. Her book explains well how brain chemicals become

unbalanced thru alcohol and drug use, and how to rebalance them.

 

Also, Julia Ross, who also operates a clinic (in California) that has

successfully rehabilitated alcoholics and addicts, has a book entitled

" the mood cure " in which she lays out a workable nutritional plan to

help people over the hump of addition.
