Can these two coincide with each other:? I have ADHD and very very seldom

drink but lately, when I do, I'm awake all night and not sure if its

coincidence or not.

alcohol is a sedative ADHD is a hyperactivity disorder, one would

figure it would help, then again if taking pills for the ADHD you

shouldn't be drinking,..... at all. Also some people need stimulants

to fight adhd (which i don't understand, but I'm not a doctor) but

Ritalin and adderol ((big add/adhd drugs,)) are both stimulants and

are two of the most highly prescribed for it

Hi,

Healthy normal case is people sleep well under alcohol influence.

Nights when you remain awake, check your pulse rate & if possible also BP.

You may be allergic to alcohol, which is racing pulse & raising BP.

Normal ranges, (Approximate):-

Pulse - 65 ~ 85

BP - 100/60 to 135/85

See visiting www.naet.com for info & solutions to eliminate allergies.

People with ADHD or ADD forthat matter tend to use stimulants ie ritalin to

basically funnel the thought processes into one space so that it can be

organized and initiated. I have worked with many patients with brain

injuries and ADD/HD which have the same response to alcohol. Your brain may

work differently in processing the chemicals. Some of my patients were

actully given coffee before bed to help them focus enough to sleep. You

might want to check ou tthe book " Driven to Distraction " by dr edward

hallowell.

I don't take anything for my ADHD. I wish I could, but its a terrible

habit of mine. almost any medication that requires you to take on a

daily basis requires you to really take it every day. Meaning, if you

miss a day or two, you'll get sick. I'm terrible about taking anything

in the day. At night, I'm good about it but unfortunately, that wont

help me with my ADHD :)

Are you saying that it does in fact counter each other and that would

be why I'm up all night? Thank goodness I don't drink often at all :0
