Guest guest
Dear Jess, I agree with Dr Khan regarding the nutrition element (it's one of many) in ADD & ADHD children and adults. It's not a simple issue of too much sugar. It's important to look at how refined the foods are which are being taken in. Refined flour, sugar and salt are all culprits in many more illnesses. Aiding the digestive system and reducing stress can make huge in roads to children's and adult's health. A surprisingly simple tool to aid anyone with ADD & ADHD etc... is Epsom Salts baths. I've used Epsom Salts and lavender essential oils and a lavender essential oil in my massage oil, massaging my children piror to bedtime, to manage my children's sleep patterns since they were babies. Whenever I get muscle twitches etc... I find they melt away with Epsom Salts soak. I've even used Epsom Salt soak when I had a kidney stone to help reduce the pain. My clients use the same Epsom Salt, Baking Soda, Natural Sea Salt, Lanolin, Vitamin E & D oil, Vitamin C crystals and Lavender Essential oil mixture soak to " calm " a variety of " women's issues " . It is not any wonder throughout the ages mineral springs have brought relief to many and Europeans still swear by them. PLEASE NOTE: You can mix all of the ingredients together for my recipe ahead of time, except for Vitamin C crystals. Vitamin C will oxidize and instead of being good for your skin, can actually cause skin damage. You should never use vitamin C crystals which are not pure white, any discoloration means they have oxidized. People are very funny about Epsom salts. I've seen a small bottle, enough for one bath, cost $12, while I pay a little less than a dollar for a quart and about two dollars for a half gallon container in many stores in my area. Seems there's pretty big money to be made by repackaging it. My hope is to see natural beauty & spa product making parties, where women learn how to make their own products fresh, so they aren't needing the perservatives found in health and beauty products. If you would like to read more here are some sites:, but a simple search on " Epsom Salts " will bring up a lot more information. Remember as with anything, too much can also be dangerous, specifically using Epsom Salts in enemas should not be used on children. _http://www.thepeacefamily.force9.co.uk/epsom.html_ (http://www.thepeacefamily.force9.co.uk/epsom.html) _http://www.umm.edu/altmed/articles/magnesium-000313.htm_ (http://www.umm.edu/altmed/articles/magnesium-000313.htm) _http://www.epsomsaltcouncil.org/health_why_it_works.htm_ (http://www.epsomsaltcouncil.org/health_why_it_works.htm) Rachel ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.
