Guest guest
My son has ADHD and sensory integration disorder. His PHD who diagnosed suggested biofeedback and gave me some websites. I'm looking for advice from those who have done this in their lives. I'm on the fence about trying this because my insurance doesn't cover it. But, I want to help my boy. What is it all about? Thanks Jess
Guest guest
Hello Jess, ADHD now has a new set of initials. Its TMS. Too Much Sugar. Research has been done to prove that when kids are taken off most of the sugar in their diet, their ADHD evaporates. You might try it. Guest guest
I did try it! yeah, it didn't work. Just a little background on me: I'm LDS (Mormon) and I try very hard to live by something we call the word of wisdom. Basically, it means ANYTHING in excess is bad for your body. I decided to leave my full time job to raise my kids and I have one child who is celiac. So I do monitor gluten, sugar and carbs very closely. I have tried so many things. My son has an extremely high IQ and he is a very active child. He just needs help slowing it down so he can function. Sugar is not the root problem, It definantly was a contributing factor at one point. Thanks for your thoughts though! Guest guest
It is an excellent source of help. I have 5 children and 3 are ADD/ADHD with 1 being Aspergers Autism. I use Biofeedback on them with great results. To learn more about Quantum Biofeedback you can research or go to my website at www.quantumassociatesofutah.com Some Biofeedback therapists like myself with work arrangements with you if your insurance will not cover it. Dr. Bates has also done a new CD which also offers help. Guest guest
There is a cheaper, effective, and effortless alternative to Bio-feedback. It works while the child sleeps. " Neuro-liminal " is the brainchild of my dear friend Dr Phil Bate, a wonderful retired psychologist who ended up working with both nutrition and bio-feedback. The ADD CD is only $97, paid just once. You will find it and a wealth of information at his website. http://DrBate.com As for the comments on the sugar: Of course taking an ADD child, or for that matter any child or adult, off sugar is helpful. In SOME cases the ADD will then disappear. But to categorically state that ADHD is " nothing but " sugar management is simply not true and is offensive to struggling parents who are already doing all the right things. There are a gazillion conditions, sugar reactions among them, that can all cause ADHD symptoms or make them worse. You will find some helpful articles in the files of this group. Go to . Find Alternative Answers. Click on Files. The series is called " Coping with ADD " . I promised more articles but right now I am planting gardens and gathering herbs and potting up perennials for sale at the farmers market and generally not spending much time at the computer. Getting kids with ADHD the help they need without drugs is the passion of my life, feel free to email me off list. ienvan Ien in the Kootenays, needing more hours in the day. http://freegreenliving.com
Guest guest
What type of CD? I'm in NH and I know of only one clinic that offers it. Honestly, I have a huge ignorance block I need to get through... I can't get past the idea of shocking my son's brain.. I know that's not the case, it's electro magnetic impulses which align the electro impulses in his brain that are erratic? or not in harmony? Please correct me where I'm wrong! I will definantly check your website idea and see what I can figure out! Thanks so much and I truly appreciate your response! Guest guest
Hi Jess, Where are you located? I'm in Ogden, UT. I do work with ADD/ADHD clients and can also work with the Celiac too. My kids, my partner and myself are all ADD/ADHD and or Autistic. So I understand your Word of Wisdom beliefs. I also help with finding out what your body is needing to correct the stress/issues going on. Much more than Classical Biofeedback or Dr. Bates CD, which have their place and benefits. To learn more about what I do you can check out my website at www.quantumassociatesofutah.com Good Luck Jenny Kernan Quantum Biofeedback Therapist Quantum Touch Practitioner --- Jess Phillips <jessichka.p wrote: > I did try it! > yeah, it didn't work. > Just a little background on me: I'm LDS (Mormon) and > I try very hard to live by something we call the > word of wisdom. Guest guest
ADD & ADHD are not diseases, all the humans suffer from this problem, mot seen in animals??? Simple answer that we have a poor nutrition, we lack essential fatty acids. Take a proper diet with enough essential fatty acids and your children will recover. Please read the diet section in www.cidpusa.org Dr Khan , " Ieneke " <ienvan wrote: > > There is a cheaper, effective, and effortless alternative to > Bio-feedback.
