Guest guest
Does anyone here practice Kundalini Yoga? Is there any danger in awakening the kundalini that I should know about? (In layman's terms!) Thanks in advance, ~Leese http://www.myspace.com/merekitten >>>What do you call a fish with no eyes? A fsh.<<<
Guest guest
Yes- i have heard of problems but can't quite recall what they are-i advise support from a practicing yogi and someone with deep knowledge and experience------there is a book by John Mumford-the kundalini-it may help -i would not advise anyone to do this without people that have the knowledge---i believe the energy can be a shock for the physical self but by all means the benefits are extensive. Guest guest
Hi Leese, Kundalini Yoga is very powerful and needs to be started and practiced under the guidance of a kundalini master or teacher. Without such guidance, it is very difficult, almost impossible to understand what it is you are doing and to get it right. Unless the energy is balanced when you bring it up, you will encounter problems. The right and left energy channels, called the ida and pingali, need to be correctly balanced as you do these practices or you will throw off the energy of the mind and body. It will take several days or weeks of non practice to rebalance yourself. These are advanced yoga techniques and not to be fooled with without proper guidance. Guest guest
If you want to work with Kundalini, but are concerned about the yoga part, you can start with a meditation program and work into the yoga. The link below is for an excellent Kundalini program for relaxation and meditation by Brain Sync. It is offered also as a downloadable MP3 in addition to CD and Cassett. http://www.brainsync.com/brain.asp?id=47 & title=Awakening-Kundalini Jenny Kernan Quantum Biofeedback Therapist Quantum Touch Practitioner --- cheryl bullock <cooee.shari wrote: > Yes- i have heard of problems but can't quite recall > what they are-i advise support from a practicing > yogi and someone with deep knowledge and > experience------there is a book by John Mumford-the > kundalini-it may help -i would not advise anyone to > do this without people that have the knowledge---i > believe the energy can be a shock for the physical > self but by all means the benefits are extensive. > > LISA <merekitten wrote: Does > anyone here practice Kundalini Yoga? > Is there any danger in awakening the kundalini that > I should know about? Guest guest
Dear Lisa, Hatha yoga will surely be helpful for you. Actually, all yoga, meditation or pranayama exercises can awaken Kundalini in a safe way. Kundalini Yoga may be a faster way, that's why claimed as " dangerous " . Loves, Olgu LISA <merekitten Wednesday, May 23, 2007 3:30:12 AM RE: Re: Kundalini Yoga Thank you, David. I had a feeling that I was over my head. I am not going to continue practicing the Kundalini Yoga. In fact, I just purchased a Pilates exercise video today. Can you recommend a non-powerful yoga for me? I really just want to do some gentle but powerful exercise and meditation.
