Guest guest
Hi everyone, Can anyone suggest alternative, healthy ways to help with my dog's possible hypothyroidism? I say " possible " because he's been tested twice in the past, and the results came back negative. And yet he has many of the symptoms of hypothyroidism: excessive weight gain, apathy & lethargy, excessive shedding. I've put him on a strict diet, and yet he's still gaining weight! I'm going to get him tested again, I think, just to be sure - but more than likely, the test will come back negative. However, I still feel strongly that his thyroid is supressed. Are there any herbal remedies, or anything else out there, that might help? THANKS!
Guest guest
Parasites will do the same thing. Has he been wormed lately? Heart Worm? These can make them sick also. Guest guest
Has he been tested for Cushings? Those all are Cushings symptoms also. My dog was misdiagnosed as being hypothyroid for years, never got a lot better on thyroid medication, and then I found out (new, much more well informed vet) that he actually has Cushings. There's a hugely informative canine Cushings if you need more info.
