Guest guest
Hi, Sherri! I happen to kinda catch something on TV last night as I was nodding off to sleep that I remembered this morning as I read the responses to your earlier post. The founders of Passages, a drug rehab place in Malibu were being interviewed. This is a swishy swishy place to go ($70,000/month!!! Can you imagine????) But they guarantee success. And they also defy the convential wisdom that alcoholism is a Disease. A very interesting concept that goes against how everyone approaches it. Here's their website: http://www.passagesmalibu.com/founder-chris- and-pax.html I know you're thinking " what does this have to do with my son? " Well, they said alcoholism, etc., is more founded in pain, fears, emotions, etc. that simply need to be addressed and dealt with. I think over-eating would fit into the same scheme of things. The father wrote a book about his experiences of helping his son, " The Alcohol and Addiction Cure - a Wholistic Approach to Recovery " , here's the link for that: http://www.amazon.com/Alcoholism-Addiction-Cure-Holistic- Approach/dp/0943015448/ref=sr_1_1/002-3025121-6393624? ie=UTF8 & s=books & qid=1178202408 & sr=1-1 (I wish the CD was less expensive ... I'd get it.) Any way, I think a previous poster was right in saying maybe a different therapist -- and maybe include family members.
