Hi Cara and Ann,

I'll suggest the cabbage leaf compresses and the scrophularia formula to

begin with and let you know how it goes. Thanks.

How long have you had it? I had one but it only lasted for a few months and it

started shrinking and went away. All I did was change my face wash and started

different vitamins. I would say wait a while before having surgery, unless it is

majorly bothersome.

my son had them behind his ears and i have had them on my back.. i had one

surgery it isnt bad and son didnt have anything and i thnk they just went away

... he doesnt have them anymore .. they have to remove the sac or gland or it can

come back it starts with a seudarifous gland and an oil gland getting blocked

and grows from there .. they are harmless usually ..

I wonder if what I have on my lip would be called a sebaceous cyst.

When I was about 20, I had a zit on the corner of my lip, and I tried

to pop it. It wasn't ready, but I squeezed too hard, and I could hear

it popping from the other side -- inside my lip. Ever since, I have

had a variously-sized knot there. Tried to have it removed one time,

but the damned dermatologist MISSED!! Talk about incompetence! He cut

so far above the cyst that he couldn't get it out. Wanted me to come

back so he could try again... It's been staying so large I can see it

in pics now, so I guess I'll try again.

Harmles....usually! I had one on my face at 16. Being a teenager I

started picking at it. Needless to say, I'm in my 40's and STILL have a

1/4 inch deep scar on my face. If you have a sebacious cyst GO TO THE

DOCTOR! If the sac breaks you can not only be seriously scarred, you

can also get a mean case of blood poisoning. I generally don't like

going to the doctor, and that's why I still have a nice scar on my

cheek. Forget the poultices, and the home remedies. You need the sac

removed and antibiotics to prevent infection of the wound.

Good Luck!

sebaceous cysts are a bit like a pimple gone bad. A sebaceous gland fills up

with sebrum and waste, but instead of draining or being consumed by macrophages,

the debris from this localized infection is walled off and removed from the body

by a tough layer of dense connective tissue. There it generally stays until it

is surgically removed or the body eventually gets around to reabsorbing it.

Sebaceous cysts are small, usually painless bumps under the skin that may move

slightly, depending on the mobility of the fascia. They are most common on the

scalp, neck, or shoulders. Staphylococcus bacteria can sometimes attack

sebaceous cysts, resulting in an acute infection. Sebaceous gland are oil

glands. If you can, try to keep all your pores as clean and dry as possible.

Another good cheap thing that alot of people use is organic apple cider vinegar

in the glass jars. You can try with a cotton swab. Put cotton swab in the cider

and allow it to soak in. Then tape it to the cyst

with medical tape and leave on overnight. It works for warts, moles and

pimples.

Re: Sebaceous Cyst

Viiginia -

Try castor oil pollices (sp) , changed daily, to pull the cyst out. Castor

oil has strong pulling power.

Hi,

If it is easy for you get homeopathic medicines, try using

Berberis Aquifolium topically (MT) mother tincture or ointment,

& same medicine in potency of 1X or 3X internally is of immense help.

There won't be any scars even.
